At least I was right about you beating your dick to Downey built cars! I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find you. You'll be "servicing" all the men at the Marion Center restrooms

My question is how is the 23 car legal it has a camaro stub with coil spring rear. With that stub car should be leaf springs. Yes 82 up camaro had coils but also had McPherson strut in the front. Inter changing frames is illegal as per rules. So if people want to bitch bitch about the right car. So how is this aloud if the tech is so strict. Sounds like bullshit to me.

If I remember correctly a few years back their was a 007 car at roaring knob along with a number 1 car that was a twin to it. They were taking rocket cars and putting a monte carlo frame under the rocket cage. this is nothing new people have been doing this for a long time. it is alot easier to go buy a old latemodel for 500-1000 and cut the cage off and use it on a street stock. An for those who are thinking that you cannot have a home build street stock anymore are out of your mind. like stated before only thing that has changed is shocks, springs and weight jacks allowing guys to adjust on them so they can actually go in a circle.. what the difference if rocket clipped a car with a camaro stub? no different than a downey car, kline, or s and s, or rebel car those are all chassis cars. but i would go to someone other than rocket. rocket doesnt specialize in that business. that would be like taking a chevy to a ford dealer to get work on, its not their expertise.

If someone here believes a home garage built car can be competitive anymore. The people building it better have some ? No a lot of knowledge on suspension geometry. S & S, Downey, and a few others are what's winning. To say Chris from S & S is driving a HOME BUILT car. Come on. That flat steel table called a jig is not what you can say back yard builders are using. Chris and other builders are all using a jig. Many of those homebuilt and even some that are not are for sale all over the place. If it was homebuilt nobody wants them unless your price is so low that scrapping it may get you more money.

A.J. Flick's Sportsman car was entirely home built and designed by his father, Mark. He won several races with it, and was competitive with it wherever they chose to run. So yes, it can still be done, but it is easier for teams to buy a roller. That part of the sport is, unfortunately, rapidly disappearing.

Nothing against the current owner/driver, but unfortunately, he did not have near the success as the Flicks did with it.

Wow. AJ's dad has been around dirt racing a long time. Yes, he could build a competitive car. His modified for years where home built. And as for chris' s car he takes full advantage of his learning experience and has updated that car many times. Go try to buy it. That will answer a lot of questions. The only point I have been trying to make is at one time you could drive by many Garages of all types from body shops, gas stations, parts stores and you probably would have had a Good chance to see some type of performance car that was homebuilt. How many people no how to time a birdcage or to set proper pinion angle. What should you set castrr and camber at. Our racing has lost a great deal of that knowledge. O what a shame...
