1 thing that could help get more cars is to lower the cost of pit gates. I know by the time they pay the insurance theirs not much left, but trying to get people to come help on the car on a regular basis is tuff. Pay that money and really don't get to watch a whole lot of racing cause their prepping the car.

The days of $20 pit passes are a distant memory....

Hey guys, when I first started writing for the old CAVALCADE OR AUTO RACING in 1968 the Butler Speedway was charging $3 for the grandstand and $6 for a pit pass!!!    And when I first started going to races as a grade school kid in the early 1950s it was only $1.25 for the stands!!!    All of it  went the way of 25c a gallon gasoline!!   But keep in mind, when I got my first job after getting out of the Navy in 1966 I was only making around $2 an hour!!   The kids wouldn't flip burgers at McDonalds for that now!!  And I doubt the Mexicans would work for that either!!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Walt

I don't think doubling the pay out will draw more cars.

Didn't they try that in the Sprints years back and they got the same or less?

Hopefully the WRG dirt membership goes out the window next year. Then i would still be content with paying around $22-$23 every week to get in. No more than $25 though unless its a special race. I know the $30 pit admission drives many people away from coming to help on a car.

Open tire rule will attract drivers and make it cheaper for them as well.

A rule where drivers get in free or something along those lines will attract drivers. Since they are the only athletes that need to pay to put on their show.

Maybe a slight increase in payout or at least a more solid pay throughout should attract drivers. Doesnt have to be anything huge.

But as the drivers come, the fans will as well.

So now we need to reduce pit admission 7 dollars a person AND let at least the driver in free AND increase payout AND with all the money that saves the racer we can open the tire rules wide open and make them spend more to
Compete ???? It's painfully obvious all of you learned economics from a leftist professor who
Believed in the teachings of that jack off kaines

It doesn't......

But if you go with an open Brand limited compound rule it will give the drivers the option on what brand to run and that could save the drivers money.

The best thing Mr Tomson could do is have a meeting with all the drivers in all four classes and see what their feelings are to make the track better and what to do with the rules, tires, and UMP sanction.

So if he buys option 1 and it's the wrong option he now needs to buy option 2, all I see is more cost.

What ever happened to the old DOT approved tire only rule that stocks used to have? Did that stop because of expense or safety or something? That rule I think would save on motor cost... not getting the hp to the ground... but again, if there's a reason that is no longer around then...

It saves the racer money because they don't have to have different tires for different tracks. If they allow you to run an open competition tire, it will be competitive at other tracks so we don't have to stock up on multiple brands, constructions, and compounds.

The dirt car membership also drives some racers away. For guys that don't have unlimited resources, you basically have to commit to running there all year long. The admission price might as well be 30 a regular night because with a membership you have to show up every Friday at 20 admission to make the membership worth it.

Trust me, the memberships and tires don't compare to the cost of fielding a car, but its the little things like this that turn drivers away. Look at Marion center or dog hollow, no tire rules, no memberships, and a pair of hole in the wall type race tracks in the middle of no where and they are consistently pulling in more late models than lernerville. Just my two cents
