CNB is prime Realestate.  perfect for big venues and even weekly racing.  Where previous owners have gone wrong is when They've competed against other tracks in the area or mis-managed them.  I'd like to see big payouts as well but I just don't see that happening in the area on a weekly schedule.  Personally as a Driver, I liked the payout system that AMP had.  $1000 to win weekly for the lates and $600 to win for the Street Stocks.  $30 pit fee and it was $12 to get into the stands.

you charge much more than $12 to watch around here, and your fan count will go down.  but if someone were able to keep costs down to around $12 stands fee and $30 pit fee and offer drivers more than $30 to start this place is a gold mine.

The only way possible the big track at Clearfield could survive as a dirt track would be running specials only.   They couldn't possibly run weekly on Saturday nights which was their traditional night.  Marion Center and Hummingbird are right down the road, and Port Royal and Hesston aren't too far away.  There are barely enough late models around for full fields at Lernerville for their weekly shows anymore.  I can't disagree that Clearfield could be a first class facility with enough money pumped in, but if it returns to dirt, must run specials only.

Clearfield track made money. previous owners just didn't want to do it, just ask jeff taylor why he closed amp, wasn't the money. It is the people in the area, people cant be happy with anything anymore. And this very same reason is why some previous owners have let go of cnb. So they don't have to put up with the way people are around here.

Not all people in the area were assholes to Jeff Taylor!  The first year the track was open was great!  He enforced the rules, the payouts were good and people trusted him and offered help when needed.  He started screwing people when it came to pay and points payout.  Then once he started getting frustrated at people's attitudes when they didn't get paid he told them not to come back.  There were incidents of fighting too that weren't his fault.  but a lot of that tracks failure had to do with the people running it.

Prior to him owning it, same thing.  guy went berserk didn't pay anyone and then decided to commit a felony!  A little more severe, but same thing...bad management.

It's not the local people that are the problem.  There are plenty of cars in the area, and fans looking for something to do on a Friday or Saturday night.  If tracks in this area were managed properly they would be successful.   And the argument that you wouldn't take cars from Hummingbird or Marion Center is complete crap.  While AMP was running, they had 18-20 Latemodels, and Humming bird was lucky to get 15.  Now Hummingbird has 20-25 lates regularly.  Marion Center's payout is way too low to really compete.  One of the things that keeps them going IMO is their Rules, and the fact that they don't require you to run a transponder.

If you think there's room for another Saturday night weekly track in Clearfield, you're delusional.  A lot of those low buck cars that ran AMP couldn't possibly be competitive on the big Clearfield half mile.

Most of the cars that run hummingbird, Marion center, and thunder mountain will not go to the big 1/2 mile. There equipment won't hold up and it will be way to fast for most! Couldn't get a full field when it was the shorter version even though payout was better. Have a good special 2 times a month and bring in the better cars and they will put a show on and make money! That's an awesome facility!
