If Mercer has to put it to a faithful class just to help a class most fans don't care about "midgets who are only there once a year" that is real desperation and bullshit. I have been supporting Mercer

since I started going to Dirt Races, but this one I will not.  Points don't mean much anymore anyway.

It's a shame Vince puts so much work into this event and holds it at such a run-down facility with poor management.  I believe if the event was held at a respected facility, other tracks would honor the race more.

This has nothing to do with the venue whatsoever, there was no problem before this

You did your race right , Vince . You went way out of your way to schedule , not 1 time but then made sure your rain date didn't conflict either . Mercer is in the wrong here 100% . I hope they get about 3or4 cars & loose BIG on that class on Saturday

"other tracks" are honoring the race fine. Mercer is not.

Everyone just got a wake up call and missed it. Here you have a promoter from another speedway that has made a poor decision according to all. #1 the racers can decide where they want to go Saturday. If they choose not to it's there loss. #2 he made the comment he did this to help his back gate. REALLY. What this is showing is how tight the business of running a race track is these days. Right ? No. But, with the amount of rain outs this year I think promoters are scratching for every car and every person they can get in the gate. You can't expect people to keep losing money. I think Vince ' s race will be very successful. I don't doubt that there will be a good field of cars. The few that stay will be the guys looking for the few extra bucks. In business you find out that sometimes it is best not to get into battles of words. I for one hope this race continues to grow as it has from it's inception. I believe I am correct in saying this, there where very few of lernerville's top running cars there. There is a question for ya. Again build on experience vince. It's a great race for the little guys that I hope continues to grow. That and due to work. I gotta miss it. Vince you gotta another rain date ? Only kidding people ! Good luck. Good racing.

Maybe the Penn Ohio Series need to drop Mercer from the schedule!

Running a points race is just stupid all it has done is piss off the Stock Class.

I'm curious to see that blabber mouth Dutkos defense of this. You know he'll try to flip it and make it someone else's fault

Jo73- I do have a rain date in mind and of course it doesn't conflict with Mercer but that's what I think is the right thing to do for the racers! And to add- the driver who called Frank also asked him about 5 times to run the show but not as a points race and he still refused. That's what irritates me. He could have met me in the middle and still added the race but as no points and no hard feelings. But it's a business for him and I respect that although I think it was done in an extremely disappointing way. I don't make a dime doing this, in fact I donate a good amount of money doing this, so I'm clearly not worried about the back gate. I just want to put on a great show for my Dad, spotlight the guys who are traditionally a support class, give them a huge payday and have it be conflict and drama free. And it was all of that until 3 pm Monday.

Vince,

I'm not taking sides on this one.... but I think  you need to look at the bigger picture .
For the last 3 years other tracks have worked with you and either not scheduled or had no points when you have originally scheduled this race.
If memory serves, Mercer is a track that waived points for the division when you put together the 1st race.
Unfortunatly, this years original date rained out and that's why things are where they are today. Racers are all able to make thier own decisions.
If you want to come on this board and bash Mercer at this point, I hope you are ready for the lack of cooperation you may come across in years to come if you are able to continue .
With Sharon not running stocks, I think Mercer could pull a decent car count without making it a point race, but thats my opinion.

Im not one to bash anyone but you are an idiot. (Being able to continue) is way off base. this race will be around until vince decides that its no longer possible. Mercer scheduled against it knowing the date and they are stupid for doing it. I hope that three of the lowest point guys show up just so they have to pay out. This race deserves the support it gets and anyone who says otherwise is a fool. Mercer wont be around much longer with idiotic moves like this (if anyone really cares anyway).

Well, I suspect if the All-Knowing Lord of Everything MRP had anything to say, he'd have said it already. Even a cement head like him has to realize what a stupid, short sighted move MRP made.

Maybe Mercer actually tried to help the Stateline drivers out. With the racing up in the air at Stateline, where would their cars run this Saturday night? I'm sure not too many, if any at all, would tow down to Pittsburgh to race for a special show or a points night. At least this gives them a closer venue to start racing at again and actually have a chance of gaining points for the year.

Is interesting that the usual supporters are not on here telling everyone they are wrong. Hmmm. I can name three that jump on these posts like dogs to defend yet they are completely quiet. HMMM Again.

I cant gurantee, but I can go ahead and say I am 95% positive that Mercer did not have Stateline in their ideas when they came up with this gem of an idea.  I dont think any Stateline cars would go to Mercer anyways.
