dickracer99 you are a total jack off, crank licking fool!!  I never stated you said any thing about the mandatory crates. Your dumb shit idea about no strokers,or 400's is what I am talking about. If you have it then run it. Why scrap a good open engine to build a 358? I went off on the crate bullshit after I was referencing your stupid ass no strokers, and 400 idea. Everybody thinks they have the best new idea out there when they do not. Just leave shit alone and quit trying to be Obama. Next thing idiots will want a cap on what you can spend, because they do not have the money to keep up. Well either get a better job, or find a new hobby. Nothing in life is cheap anymore get used to it.

A lot of those guys build their own motors for half of what a crate costs. And like green55 said he takes pride in doing it himself. If the crates are competing well then let them run with the open motors. The only people who save money by buying crate engines are the guys who cant build their own motors. It is another option but should not be mandatory. Plus how many guys are now going to spend ridiculous amounts of money on parts to be faster. The crate concept started out as a good plan but quickly got out of control and people are spending 3 times more than they use to. Look at the crate latemodels, what a cost efficient class that turned out to be.

If i have machine work done on my motor and buy good new parts I would spend more than a 602 and about the cost of a 604.
With that said leave the class alone!

Let's face it. The ss class is out of control. And the tracks and drivers are all to blame. We did this to ourselves. Bring the motor limit to 406. Let crates run with a weight break. This allows some to get into a ss without spending 12 grand on a motor. Stop the open motor rules. If that doesn't work...put those big motors on 8inch tires...then see them try to hook up. They can't complain about what motor to buy or who builds their own motor bla bla bull shit. They can put a 440 in and they will go no where on 8inch tires. Then...let them cry. For the money some are spending in this class they could have a good late model. If they don't want to get a 406 for a ss then they can get a lm chassis cause they already have a motor that will run fine in that class

I have to agree with you.these tracks need to get together and make one set of rules. They need to go back to having 15 pages of rules instead of 5. Of you wanna save money put everyone on 8 inch rubber. You can buy a wheel and tire of 8 inch for the price of 1 lm tire.

Give the SS guys a year to burn through all their tires and then go back to 8in.  they never should have put the SS on big tires in the first place...

I get that but you could also buy good used stuff. You dont have to buy all new stuff. Your rebuild cost is also minimal. If you blow a head gasket it dont cost you a ton of money. Also you dont have to take it anywhere. Like I said before the only people this helps are the guys who cant do their own engine work. The crates can compete with the open motors so leave it that way. Requiring crates is going to ruin the class.

Like someone else said .. once you have to buy a motor from the company that pulls the china float in the macys thanksgiving parade , they will make the price anything they want !  It happens every time.

You can keep your coverage ... You can keep your doctor .. it will be $2500 cheaper .... and this motor will be cheaper too when we mandate that you buy it ..

Well street stock drivers have two other options on Friday nights if they don't want to support Lernerville's foolish move.

Dog Hollow or Thunder Mountain. I'd bet they would welcome you guys with open arms and if support is good maybe they'd raise the purse......

I can tell you guys and girls one thing, if they dont change the motor rule ill be running there next year as well as the rest of this year. i dont build my own engines but if it need head gasket or something i can do it for next to nothing. my motors dont cost me much either since one of my sponsors is a motor builder he will do what it takes to keep the car on the track. If i by a crate motor and it goes, then what how long will i have to wait for it to get fixed and how much will it cost to be fixed? So as this debate goes on i might have to buy two crate motors well shit there is 10,000 to 20,000 grand for two motors.  lets face it where is it going to help with a crate motor how many guys around or near lernerville can do crates i only know of ingram. so if everyone is running this motor and 4 people have engine problems in one week per say, well shit there goes the car count for the following week unless they a spare which costs money to have just sitting there. i can tell u this i sold my pure stock to buy a sport stock to run lernerville, cause dog hollow was doing the same thing for next year making them run a 602 on 8 inch tires. i sold it to get away only to find now lernerville two weeks after i bought my sport stock going to do same thing except on 10 inch tires i know where there will be another car for sale if it happens.

Her name is Vicki Emig. Rush series co king pin. The BACK DOOR DEALS have to worth more than anyone no's. Someone at lernerville needs to get there blinders OFF, or be a leader and come out and give an explanation as to why the sportsman guy's are getting the shaft. They run in this class because of what they can do with there 2 hands. Crate motors take that away from them and add more costs. YOU WANT TO MAKE IT MORE AFFORDABLE. It's good competitive racing, it's a healthy class with good car counts week in, week out. Everything and Anything that is making sense tells you. LEAVE IT ALONE. IT'S WORKING. Dog hollow and Thunder are just sitting there and waiting to pounce. It also has people backing away from getting in racing. Somebody needs to let the people from Rush, Sweeney and lernerville management in on what the racers already no.
