If memory serves me right he has at least one Rocket super late sitting in his garage that he races.

And a few years ago he was taking care of Tom Erickson's (rip) dirt cars when he wanted to come back and race.

You will be sure to tear my body off the car!  Thats for sure!  Thats why the better teams don't want to race with the "Cast iron Cowboys".  And it shouldn't be that way!  But thats the way most Steelblock guys race.  Sorry....

Down to one car for my Old Age!  Used to keep two for myself and One for Eriksen!  Still have four Aluminum engines though.

It's not hard to tell the guys that do have cars that do not race there on a weekly basis. They stayed home. 50 pounds, just tie wrap it on and go racin. He'll it must be that easy. Hey, how many of you SLM guys have an EXTRA 50 just laying around ? Re-scale the car, change some shock valving, maybe a spring or 2. Gear or tire diameter shouldn't be a problem either. There are not to many teams that go to that extent in today's racing.

Why do you guys bitch about this. There is already a couple tracks running SLM on Friday night.  If Thunder Mountain did, you would complain about how stupid it is trying to take cars from Dog Hollow and Lernerville. Can't run every class.

Express Man said "So we penalize the Aluminum motor cars on a weekly basis!"  Looks like he's catering to them a little to me.  This is a steel block class.

Bo gave the steel block guys a place to race on Friday nights.  He is giving the SLM guys the option to run there too. If they don't want to make the changes to comply, that's ok, don't go, but you have the choice. More than you get at most tracks.

By comparing the car counts so far, I think he's doing pretty well.

I think you have that in reverse!  Bo should give the Superlatemodel guys a place to race on Friday nights  and the Steelblock guys the option to join in if he doesn't want to have a seperate Steelblock class for these guys!  Like they do at most other tracks that still run them!  I just saw where one of the Steelblock guys didn't make weight at the other Steelblock track!  So I think getting them down to a reasonble weight must be possible! Now you set a weight limmit  that is reasonable like 2300.lbs and everyone follows that!  No special penalty because you have an "Aluminum engine"  Just smart business!  Either go with the future ...or you just get left behind!

I disagree express man. There are more steel blocks than supers within the local area. Bo has done what everyone has wanted the bird to do for years. It's working. Good car counts. Bigger name drivers. And it s only the first year. I think what you'll see is hell throw a couple super specials and give steel blocks a chance to race with them. Remember guys...this is their first year...and everytime I have been there it's packed. Little advice to Bo for next season.....expand the seating...your running out of space for the crowd and cars hahaha

What is wrong with this picture. ThunderMountain runs an open LateModel race that pays 1500.00 to win and you have 16 cars-- Hummingbird runs Steelblock LateModel that pays 600.00 to win and you have 26 cars !

Actually, it's strange to me, the week before he advertised increasing the pay for the regular late model show due to having 30+ cars. Everyone praised him, including me, but less than half that number of cars showed up for more money. I can't explain it.

A couple extra bucks isn't going to make more people race. Guys are aren't racing need thousands more to race not an extra 20 bucks

My guess is 90% of racers don't come on here unless there was a conflict from the weekend's events. Posting one post on here to make a change or promote a purse to drivers is not good PR work.

Just saying it's $1500.00 to win doesn't say much to a guy that knows he's propably not going to win but would like to know what 10th on back is paying. If it's the same that team says well there will be more and better cars so lets stay home cause there is a chance now we won't make the field and can't afford to go for just tow money. At least give a to start price, and call all the cars that have competed to give a heads up.

For all you aluminum versus steel people, the night they ran double feautres aluminum 1 Steel 1. Several very competative steel blocks run the TM/Hummingbird tracks.

I think what happens is that some teams do the math on the payout and say...I can't afford to run this race.  And I think some of the smaller teams don't come because they are affraid they are out classed by the Series following teams, and won't make the race!  Specials are usually not benneficial for the weekly teams!
