Well, After seeing that list I personally think that with what Scott has accomplished over 20 yrs of racing he has a opportunity to get in the Hof. You have to remember that a lot of these early inductees also didn't travel. There was no stars, woo or lucas. Back then I think the only local sanction was the PRA. The big race around here was at Heidleberg, if memory serves me correctly, 100 laps and then I believe 150 when they paved the place. Jerry Maier turned my dad's car on it's roof in that one in its dirt days. Going into turn 3. LOL. Dick Linder drove his car, I think it was in that race, to long ago. Story telling is over.

Most all of the guys on the list did a good bit of travelling.   Unfortunately for Scott, who I have really admired down through the years, he rarely travelled outside of Pennsylvania to race.  Most of these other hall of fame drivers ran with the NDRA and STARS, which all began in the early 80s, and all the big races at Pennsboro and Eldora which began in the 70s.   I just don't think Scott had enough national exposure to make the hall.

If your going to use that arguement....Then how did Denny Bonebrake and Rodney Frankin make it in?  They only raced Hagerstwonand maybe once a year at Winchester in thier day.  And Lynn Geisler??  Tell me about his career other than Pittsburgh and Lernerville!(Which is extreamly steller at both)  I know he would go to Pennsboro...But was never a factor.  And How about guys like Red Farmer???  How much dirt did he run?  I just don't think there are many 20 time track champions in the Latemodel division out there.  But we will see eventually.

For your 20 time track champion argument the black and red 14 at Pittsburgh is 4th in points

You're very wrong about Bonebrake and Franklin.  Denny came to Pittsburgh many times back in the day, and Rodney Franklin was at Eldora, Pennsboro, Pittsburgh, and many other tracks.  Rodney Franklin was very well known out of the Maryland-Virginia area.  Lynn made the field for the DTWC almost every time he went to Pennsboro, and did lots of travelling with the MACS, STARS.   Although Scott Rhodes is a very fine racer, when you compare him to most of the others on the list, he just comes up a little short.  Hagerstown was also a Sunday night track until sometime in the 80s, so Franklin and Bonebrake got lots of laps in at both places.  Later in his career Denny Bonebrake ran almost exclusively at Winchester.

Track championships sure aren't what they used to be. In this era, there are only about 5 guys in each class that show up every week. It's just not a prestigious thing anymore. Winning 20 is a pretty big deal though.

Dave Hoffman isn't in either, and with all due respect, I don't think Rhodes deserves it any more than Dave.

All the respect in the world for all these guys!  Dave Hoffman was a good friend and a great racer as well.  But I don't think he had quite the resume.  He usually was allways a paid driver!  So he missed a lot events he could of won!  I will give him the tip of the hat as well  One of the best ever! Lynn as well!  But Lynn was far from a traveler.  I will bet ALL THOSE TRACKS EXCEPT HAGERSTOWN ARE IN A FIFTY MILE RADIUS OF HIS HOME!

As for Pennsylvania drivers, Clate Husted would be a nice addition.  He drove every type of car and had no problem switching from dirt to asphalt. Got most of his wins in a late model.

Express Man, you really don't know much about Lynn Geisler.  Of course, he ran Lernerville, PPMS, and Motordrome on a regular basis, with phenomenal success, but also did quite a bit of travelling all over the area to big races, Pennsboro, Wayne County, St. Clairsville, Hagerstown, I-79, Clearfield, to name a few.  Whenever he left his home tracks he was always a contender contrary to your assertion, and was noticed by many outside of the area.  That's what it takes to get into the Hall of Fame.   Clate Husted would also be a great choice.

How many of you remember the time Clate Husted took his dirt track Camaro and ran it on the Sharon pavement??  About 1971 if my memory is correct.
