“Back to School” Bus & Kids Bike Races rained out tonight, but rescheduled for next Saturday, September 19’s Autumn-Motive Fest 2015

Sweeney Chevrolet/Pace Performance and DIRTcar Racing to giveaway two GM Performance 604 Crate Engines

Sarver, PA (September 12, 2015) A cold and rainy day is not conducive to racing, thus tonight’s “Back to School” School Bus & Kid’s Bike Races with Senior Series Stocks and Enduro 100 is canceled for tonight.  However, instead of simply canceling the program and moving on, Lernerville General Manager Gary Risch Jr. has decided to add tonight’s planned slate of racing onto next Saturday’s Autumn Motive-Fest!

The headlining race will be the traditional Sportsman/Stock Spectacular which pays $1,000 to the winner plus a $500 bonus if the winner is powered by a GM Performance 604 or 602 Crate Engine.  The crate powered stock cars are also eligible to compete in the $500-to-win Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Pro Stock Pandemonium race.   A sweep of both events for a crate engine racer would be worth $2,000!

As always, those who have not yet won their first Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman feature during Fab Four Racing (or other Budweiser Points races) are eligible to compete in the Non-Winners Race.  Veteran driver Bob Egley has also organized and coordinated sponsors for a “King of the Hill” series of races for Lernerville Speedway's Pic-A-Part Sportsman cars that night. .

For the third time in four seasons, Corey McPherson drove his GM Performance 604 Crate Engine powered #C33 Sportsman/Stock Car to the 2015 Track Championship.  Corey leads a group of drivers who have taken full advantage of the GM Performance Crate Engine options within the Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman Stock rules.  That option becomes mandatory effective at the start of the 2016 Fab Four Racing Fueled by Turner’s Premium Iced Teas season.  In conjunction with this change, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Pace Performance and officials of World Racing Group’s DIRTcar Racing have each provided a GM Performance 604 Crate Engine that will be given away to two lucky competitors in the Pic-A-Part Sportsman division as the highlight of the event.

One of the two engines will be awarded to a driver whose car is currently powered by an “open engine” and the second will be awarded to the entire pool of drivers listed below.  Major RUSH Series sponsor Jones Racing Products will provide a serpentine front drive kit (Part #1004-AL-CE) valued at over $800 for both engines, bringing the total package value of each engine to approximately $6,600.

Only regular weekly competitors of the division, (defined by competing in at least eight of the 16 Budweiser Points races during the 2015 season), are eligible for the giveaways, which will take place at next weekend’s Autumn-Motive Fest 2015.  Drivers eligible for the engines include; Corey McPherson, Jim Fosnaught, Joe Kelley, Wayne Carbo, Terry Young, Mike Miller, Bob Egley, Brett McDonald, Jeff Miller, Joey Zambotti, Aaron Easler, Paul Schreckengost, Scott Byers, Brandon Wearing, Collin Burke, Noah Brunell, Adam Lipinski, Brian Stivenson, David Smail, Neil Tristani and John Hartman.

RUSH’s Major Contingency Sponsor, TBM Brakes, will award four TBM "Thunderstorm" Blueprinted Calipers (either D52's or D154) valued at nearly $1,100 to one lucky current crate engine competitor.  Precise Racing Products, title sponsor of our weekly Super Late Model division, has also contributed prizes for the giveaway.  There will also be hundreds of dollars of other contingency product giveaways for crate engine competitors. Needless to say, it will be a busy and exciting night of racing for Sportsman/Stock teams and the loyal fans of Lernerville Speedway.

The RUSH Sportsman Modified Series will also be on the card in a Bicknell Racing Products Weekly Series event that night which will end with a Demolition Derby.  Gates will open at 4:00PM with racing set to begin at 6:00PM.  Fab Four admission pricing will be in affect; $14 for adults, $10 for seniors, $7 for students 11-17 years old and, as always, kids 10 & under are admitted FREE with a paying adult.  Pit prices are $20 for DIRTcar and RUSH members and $30 for non-members.

One of the two engines will be awarded to a driver whose car was previously powered by an “open engine” and the second will be awarded to the entire pool of drivers listed below. Major RUSH Series sponsor Jones Racing Products will provide a serpentine front drive kit (Part #1004-AL-CE) valued at over $800 for both engines, bringing the total package value of each engine to approximately $6,600.

Drivers eligible for the engines include; Corey McPherson, Jim Fosnaught, Joe Kelley, Wayne Carbo, Terry Young, Mike Miller, Bob Egley, Brett McDonald, Jeff Miller, Joey Zambotti, Aaron Easler, Paul Schreckengost, Scott Byers, Brandon Wearing, Collin Burke, Noah Brunell, Adam Lipinski, Brian Stivenson, David Smail, Neil Tristani and John Hartman

So....
If I read this right...1 engine goes to a current crate powered car, and the other goes to a regular supporter of the division/speedway for the 2015 season...
So if i have a  crate motor, why do i need to win one?
And the potential of both motors going to current crate cars exists...."here's your reward ...."

It's a complete joke. Failure is inevitable. Thanks for taking away a division we put so much time, effort and money into.

Good catch, that did not read as intended.  By "previously" I meant during this past season.

Edited to read: is currently powered by an "Open Engine"

In other words, Corey, Terry, Joey, Aaron, etc. are not eligible for one.  The first will be given to a driver that used an open engine this season.  The second is available to all drivers listed.

Does that make more sense now?

Yea, it makes complete sense. U guys refuse to listen to many loyal fans and racers. U want to shove Another crate class up our ash. Obviously Vicki is lining someone's pockets. We have enough crate classes with the prolates and modifiers, no need for another one. Hope u fall on ur face with this race.

That makes more sense.....

But the fact that the speedway and "The Crate Queen" need to give away 2 motors to get cars for next year is what REALLY makes no @#$%$# sense.

Your own press release has the value at $6600.... and that doesn't even get you "turn key"

So....How is this saving the racer money?

All the speedway has managed to do is sh#$ on the loyal drivers who put on a hell of a show every week....

If new ownership continues down this path for next year, sadly, they will get what they deserve....

A gutted division of sub-par racing....

It's not about good racing. It's about making money. Somehow, someway they will make money here. Most likely crate lates in 2017.

To Mr. Lernerville PR Big E,  since you seem to be the only voice of speedway mgt. I hear from,  what is the speedway's official reason for cutting open motors in the sportsman class that so many local fans seem to love and feel is being changed for the worse??  Is it not making money for the track??  is it not an attraction for the fans??  Lack of cars or driver participation?? Not competitive enuff??   Why this change?  Don't the new owners sponsor an open motor car??  Give us some answers so we ( I ) can try and understand!!

it is a shame racing is coming to this fork in the road. Go left and let guy's use what they have, or go right to hell with the crate engines. Vicki is going to take racing to hell in a hand basket at this pace. What will they come up with next?  rush stamped tires, rush approved fuel, rush spec oil. Look out 410 sprint's as you may be next in line to be a 604 crate class.

Agreed! If there has been a press release about it, I've missed it. I would love an answer as to why the change. We all pretty much know the answer, but unfortunately I think we as fans, more importantly SUPPORTERS, will have to wait to see how everything pans out. I think Jim Fausnaught said it best when he said crate lates in 2017. If this thing backfires and they don't get the car count, they have no problems switching over to crate lates.

I love this track. It puts on a great show weekly, and we are all lucky to have a top track so close to home. With that being said, ruining the most competitive division isn't doing anything progressive.

F u c k Gary, Miss Icky, and this idiotic concept. I will not support it. It pisses me off that I will have to sit through their heat race(s) next year, unless they suddenly add them to the rotation like they would never do for the Stocks in past seasons so Miss Icky can splooge all over herself.

I don't think they will add the Crate Lates. Too much of a purse increase, unless Miss Icky will be swallowing the difference and why not, she's well suited for that practice.

I've never been this pissed off at Lernerville. Not since Don dropped the Sprints years ago. But, Don was smart enough to realize he made a big mistake, and quickly brought them back a couple of weeks into the season. Not likely to happen here, as Risch, Jr. is getting butt-licked by Kate the Crate.

Now, you take the one race a year they have to be center stage and you are going to turn it promotional vehicle for Eat-It-Emig. Gary, I hope you lose your ass you f u c k i n punk.

Autum-motive fest was at one time the biggest stock race in the tri state area.
It was a special day for the stocks only!
What a shame divided division, cut in purse, sharing center stage with a bus, bike race and Demo Derby.

I can't understand why the Street Stocks are treated this way.
This class puts on the best show just about every week.
