Obviously I don't follow the goings on of anything North of I80 in between western Pennsylvania and the once strong Erie/NY stateline cars since the quality of car and driver is crap, but what's the deal with this Benny Gordon? I'm guessing he has a ton of money and little talent?

He seems to be what Hodgkiss is made fun of here for times 100. Unless I'm missing something, it seems Benny is a field filler at Hummingbird and Thunder Mountain and then tries to run NASCAR. Do I have it right?

If i'm not mistaken Benny Gordon was a multi time winner and champion in the Hooters Pro Cup Series and has won a handful of steel block late model races. Has raced in the NASCAR Nationwide and Craftsman series and maybe ARCA.

Strange that I've never heard of him before his run in the Hooters Cup. I'm aware what he did there, but I think he either bought himself there or knew a guy with some backing.

Not like he was somebody scorching Pennsylvania winning wherever he went before that and somebody in NASCAR noticed him and gave him a shot right?

It's ok say he's basically Paul Menard or John Wes Townley. Just funny how those of you up there ridicule Hodgkiss when you have Benny Gordon doing the very same thing on a much larger scale up there but that's ok because he lives in the woods too.

That wasn't even the point and I don't intend to take it in that direction further.

I was genuinely interested as to what Benny Gordon has done to get where he did, as little as he's accomplishing, it's still NASCAR. Let's use Jonathan Davenport as an example and pretend that the trucks or xfinity wouldn't be a step down for him at this point. JD is killing it across the country winning everything and is still young. It would stand to reason that someone from NASCAR would take notice and offer him a ride. However he isn't there and Benny Gordon is. By all means please explain to me what Benny Gordon ever won or anybody that ever heard of Benny Gordon before he was in the Hooters Cup. Where are his gold medals? Honest to God, I truly never heard of him before 2005. No jealously there, but don't try to tell me his accomplishments on the track warranted a NASCAR ride or that money didn't put him there.

If anything he's a shining example of why NASCAR sucks.

Do you think Norm Benning had more talent than Bob Wearing or Blackie Watt?
