Easy fix . Two new classes, LateModels with Pure stock motors- Street Stocks with LateModels motors.

Even easier fix. Tech cars and stick to the efin rules. IMCA. Period. But no. The track favorite shows up illegal and no one has the balls to dq him . Now this is what you end up with. Everyone wants a Latemodel motor in a pure stock. Run Latemodel. Quit trying to be the big dog in a small pond.
I think that IMCA is a big step in the right direction for alot of issues argued on this message board. Pennsylvania tracks just seem uninterested in it though.

So, there will be at least 20 cars in the street stock class at hummingbird next year? Good luck with that. Takes more than a few rule changes to triple your car count. There may be some interested people, but see who shows up with a car when the green flag drops next year.

Love the idea with that motor rule. Also do a hard tire rule. Not spec but a 48 and no siping or grooving. Also a claim limit on the motor.

I feel like a rule change is necessary to reign these cars in. Sounds great in theory. when I first heard about this I was under the impression that Hummingbird was dropping the class. Now that I know that's not true from a couple guys who talked to peach. This is just a petition to change the rules?
While I agree that rules should be put in to place to limit these cars from being Latemodels with clips, the only way this is going to work is if you have a tech man that A.) Knows what he is looking for B.) Is going to have the respect for the class and integrity to DQ the Cheaters. I don't care if you put a cubic inch rule of 406 and a carb and shock rule. if no one knows how to properly pump a car, which was the case last year, or check a shock then what's the point of stricter rules that aren't going to be followed?

I do feel IMCA is a start and possibly something to look at...but the real problem you have here is no one can "get into racing" because these fwd guys have more money into their motors than some pure stock drivers have in theirs. So right there is a big problem. Your ENTRY level class should have 30 cars in it. But needs to be teched. Pure stocks need pumped and checked more often I think. Street stocks are outrageous. There is nothing your gonna do to fix this. I think ss is a dead class but I think you can still save PS. But what can you do for those who want to move up but can't. That's your next problem.
See you have to have an easy entry level class and keep it relatively cheap for those to move up to the next class.
Ss doesn't do that. It cost the same for a ss than it does for a lm. Now that needs fixed.

ok here is the deal .....i saw all these tracks dropping classes because of low car counts and i know a lot of guys who will not even try to compete with the 30 thousand dollar cars that are running around here so i called louie to see what their plans were for next year , right off the bat he don't remember me at all and i had a real bad wreck there a few years back so he took care of all the mess the hospital made of the paper work so i figured well no problem i know he knows a friend of mine so i mention his name and sure enough he remembers him so anyhow i asked him what was going on next year he said he HAD considered dropping the class because of low counts but nothing had been decided yet so he said if i could get names and phone numbers of interested drivers it would help him when a rules meeting was going to be held .anyhow i said ok and hung up next day he calls back and acted like i never talked to him and seemed confused well i called him back and that seemed to not go any better .maybe i need to talk to his grandson or someone to get this all straightened out . i will let everyone know what becomes of this.

I think your best bet is to talk to Peach directly. I would like to see a discussion about the rules, and would like to attend. You already have my name and number. I don't know that anything will come of this. you're going to be hard pressed to get the guys that have been building up for years to go back a few steps, but maybe they'll implement a shock rule or a tire rule something to put everyone on a level playing field. what ever that may be.

Ok, so what happens to the Street stock guys chassis? I'm sorry but mine for example has outboard shocks, weight jacks, is tunneled. That's a lot of work to change it over to Pure Stock. a lot of fab work. and for what?! $200 to win. plus I'd have to buy all new wheels and tires. oh yeah not to mention build a new motor. can't afford a late model chassis.

Bedford averages 20+ street stocks every week, & its usually the best show of the night. Look at there rules.

you see i am in the same boat as BRC27 in between pure stocks ans street stocks .i added up the purse for the 8 cars they are getting and it was around 13 hundred dollars, it just seems to me to be a business decision to fix this class early in the off season while guys are building or rebuilding cars if i had a track and someone offered me 20 names of drivers and cars i would have my ears wide open to see what i could do to get them to my track , weather it be a 2 barrell carberator or a hard tire rule with stock 4 link suspension you say it can't be fixed but i say can't never tried .build all the engine you want and try to feed it off of a 500 holly .
