My problem is not that the 56 got into the cars on the wall.  I have no doubt that that was the last thing he wanted to do.  My comment about him not avoiding the wreck was more geared toward the post saying that the guys in the wall didn't belong on the track in the first place, and so I made a ridiculous comparison.  I don't think he could have missed it.  He was committed to the high exit of 4 and the track was already slick.  

 

My problem was getting out of his car and going up to a driver on the wall, who may have still been shaken up from a bad hit, to make an issue out of it.  I'll say the same thing about him that I did about the suicide by vehicle in NY last year.  A real racer would stay in the car waiting to get back in the race.  Maybe it was bent, but he didn't even try the car.  He jumped out, DQing himself, and then walked away from his car, letting the track staff drive it off the track.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.
