For years the cadet guys have came on here claiming guys are spending 40k on cadet engines and they can't win because they are getting outspent lol and claiming an average cadet engine is 15-20k and I have called bull$hit the entire time .... Now the tracks said ok we're going to make you run a crate so your not buying iron , wet sump engines for 40k lol and all of the sudden everyone says they build their own for a couple grand in their shop lol lol lol and crates will cost more .... Well which is it ??? Do you build your own for 3k or do the back markers have 20k in their " hammer " lol lol lol you can't have it both ways .

I never saw anyone make those claims on here, ever.

If anything, it sounds like someone from Lernerville's Propaganda Ministry is feeding you some bullshit.

I never saw 40k on here, but I do remember quite the discussion about 20k+ stock motors, but it was about PPMS, where having a big ole hammer of an engine is probably a really good idea.

I don't think I've seen anyone locally up this way spending that much on a motor.  I do know Hummingbird has guys spending 15K in their motors in the street stock class.  But at the same time their are also guys in the same class spending less and keeping up.

If a guy building his OWN motor is spending anything over 10K. I have a hard time believe that. Top end with dart heads, intake and carb should be 3 to 3500. And that's including a distributor. The bottom end isn't going to cost another 6500 to 7K.
