That race wasn't the Pittsburgher. The Pittsburgher wasn't resurrected until about 5 years after that race.

I have a listing of the Pittsburgher at PPMS that covers all the participants for the first 12 years, his name isn't on it anywhere.

As previously stated, Clate was running asphalt when the Pittsburghers began again.

The Race where Moran blew on the last lap was the 1986 Racing News Pittsburgh Super Nationals. Clate was in the pit with 86 other cars that weekend. It paid $30,000 to win. The race was promoted by Sam Bowers and Clark Coleman. in 1987 Coleman and Bowers ran the Gold Cup Series. Unfortunately the series was plagued by rain, affecting the first 3 shows. The first show of two 50 lap features was rained out after a few cars qualified, the second show dodged the rain all weekend and they just ended up running 1 of the two scheduled 50 lappers that had Gary Stuhler win. The last of the series was also hit hard by bad weather, and was run on a Monday night with Jack Boggs winning both ends of the 50 lappers. The second annual Pittsburgh Super Nationals was scheduled for the last weekend in September that year but Coleman and Bowers thru in the towel after the third Gold Cup. he Garin's held a 40 Penn-Ohio  invite instead. Husted's only other appearance at PPMS at the Joe Monyok's Children's Hospital Benefit Race 50 in September 1982. Unfortunately like he Gold Cup races, it rained out just before hot laps, with a great field of 50+ car including quite a few guys that never raced there before.
