Pretty much that ^.
A lot of the old drivers still have great memories of North Hills, but it only worked for a few years. I still miss the track, and the racing. I really don't see a weeknight track working nowadays, The economy won't support it and it's way more expensive to run a track now. The government has to have their hands in it, and get too much, plus it costs too much to race. When North Hills ran late models were cars, alcohol fuel was illegal in them, (not that that stopped everyone), and the gas was $.30. Even modifieds were real cars when North Hills ran them.
I would love to be able to go to the races 4 nights a week, but I don't see it happening.
In 1974 a fellow competitor encouraged me to come down to North Hills on Thursday night because they "only" had about 17 late models. (but they were all good ones)
