You thought that was dusty? Geez, I didn't think it was bad at all. In fact for the first race of the year, I thought the track was pretty racey.

Glad we dont race there every week. Dust was terrible. Driver couldnt see and we couldnt find him on the track most of the time. Good luck this year up there.

No late models this year! I was standing by the pit bleachers and couldnt see any cars when they went into one with the dust and the sun! Dont know how drivers could see.

Great racing, very good crowd, except for Modified's poor car count. Tells me the crowd was not there with the back gate, it was there to watch racing. I'd like too see either Mercer or Sharon move to Sunday racing with 4 Headliner classes only.
Will a 5:30 start time be early enough for the kids who go off first to also make it to Deerfield and race? I think it would be good for the early racers if they would move the start time up to 4:30 or even 3:30. They would still get what ever family and friends follow the kids and early racers and it would make it so many of the racers could make another track on Saturday. We use to make two tracks on many Saturdays when we were kart racing, It might give racers a chance with the smaller cars to do the same.
I suspect 5:30 is the earliest they could race because of not being able to have track support crew there for any greater length of time. But the question is are there some who can and will make it to also race at Deerfield and will Deerfield maybe run a class or two later on the schedule, so racers can make it to two tracks?
edit: I think the racing allowed for combining different crate sanctioned cars. If i'm correct on it, which I don't know I am, I suspect there was not tire tech except maybe looking at the brand and compound. Was there any tire tech at Mercer last night duro or sampling for the Late's? I suspect every racer there knew it would likely be open tires because of no tech. If i'm correct it may have kept a lot of cars from showing up, knowing they were not going to have a chance unless they invested in a set of tires prepared just for that race.
Never thought I'd say this but maybe spec tires are a good idea. Also with Attica, Fremont and other tracks opening up sprint tires to more compounds it's got to cause sprint racers tire bills to go up too. I feel like I'll be the last one ever for open tires, but thoughts causing the comments on here today about tires, are making me think otherwise.
Sometimes the other side of the coin is tarnished.

From looking at the results above you're calling a division that had 27 cars in the feature rundown a "poor" car count??

It did read that way but it is not what I intended to 'call'. ...
except for Modified's, poor car count.
comma added thanks for the help

Believe Flick was driving Rick Regalskis backup. From what AJ said, hes running it for the year, think it was the #7z. Cooter King won the Mods over Erick Rudolph. The orange 92x won Stocks and Slowride won in the Emods over Rich Michael Jr.

So what were the other classes and who did what ? Mark Flick ? Back in a modified, who's car was he driving ? Or was it the #2.
Rick Regalski's (#13) backup car. It was a former Page Trucking #7 out NY state, in fact still carrying that number and colors. I believe it is a Bicknell.

I couldn't make it up do to family commitment for the waster holiday, but it was interesting to note the the three main winners were all #1 Cochran Cavalcade Point champs last year. Rex King, Jr. Max Blair and David Scott. Looks like they will be the guys to beat again this year!! The car Mark Flick was running was the Page Trucking #7z Bicknell car that Mat Williamson drove to win the final regular race at Lernerville last year. The car is now owned by Rick Regalski and Flick will be driving it in all the BRP races this year. I thought 27 cars was a decent car count for this early in the year, however Mercer didn't get real good support from their 358 small block regulars!!
GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!
