Maybe if they would have had a practice day it would not have been so bad. (other than the usual teams that practice every week)
It will get better simmer down people!

Is it true that Ed treats his kid like shit? I have heard this from numerous people Friday night. It seemed like Ed was more involved with his own stuff than his kids future.

While the track was definitely dustier than usual, I think it seemed even worse because the wind was blowing the dust back into the stands. Even so, the racing was darn good.

Excellent observation, spot on.

Just in case some of you are forgetting. You are at a DIRT TRACK. It does tend to get DIRTY. 1st few races at every track when its been below 0 will not be perfect. Never has, never will. Ill gladly pay my $14 again to watch Hess do what he did. Guy was moving.

No complaints from me. It's too early to be complaining. Just acknowledging that the track was not at it's best. Yep, it's dirt. It's hard to have it the same every single week. New clay can take time to work in properly, and they're already off to a better start than the last time, so it's looking good so far.
My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

One race into the season and we've all become promoters and Track Prep Professionals. Love it.
Shows people still care, thought the board had died there for a little while.

Keep in mind that some places don't even have dirt tracks. We have a track that is in the same category, or close to it, as Williams Grove, Eldora, Knoxville, and Terre Haute, and with multiple divisions. Then we have Mercer, Sharon, and Pittsburgh, plus smaller tracks. So for all of our wishing for perfect racing every week, at least we have great racing most weeks.

It was new clay! Hell their was 2 inches of snow on it 7 days before they raced last Friday. You gotta give it time to get worked in. Everyone would be here bitching if they watered it and it rutted up and tore everyone's new equipment up, motors blown, ect on opening night!

I sat in turn four and I can't wait till next time there to go down and sit in turn one to watch. I hope, hope, hope they did enough to turn one where sprints can now go down the straight, put it to turn entry and ride around one instead of either slowing or riding over the top between one and two. I'm hoping, no expecting to see turn one and into two, look more like Attica or Wayne County, instead of being more like one and two at Fremont.
If you watched from turn one, did you see what I'm hoping to see next time I'm there and I watch from turn one?
edit: If they did address turn one that way, I think we may see records broken in any class this year.
From Wayne County's web site:
"Saturday, April 16, 2016
By Tyler Altmeyer, RoD, & Mike Swanger
In front of a full house on opening night at NAPA Wayne County Speedway, the “Wild Child” Jac Haudenschild lived up to his prestige on Saturday night as he swept the entire Arctic Cat All Star program in fantastic fashion. The Wooster driver kicked off the evening by setting a new track record of 14.125 seconds during qualifying and then won his heat race, the dash and led all 30 laps of the $5,000 to win main event."
Might we see the same from him at Lernerville if turn one is like I'm hoping it is?
