Most owners can not longer afford to take a "bath" when the weather forecast is iffy.  That's the way it is nowadays.  Tyler County cancelled their UFO race with a similar forecast.

I feel for the sprint car guys, they have nowhere else to go within a few hour drive. At least the other divisions have some options within a closer distance. Might want to get used to it though.

Can't really blame them.  Yeah, I want to see some racing, but the weather really hasn't been conducive.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Sprint guys should look into Wayne County on Saturdays.  I drive past Mercer every week to go there.  Awesome racing. Almost 2 hrs.  Well worth the drive.

I'd say they could get on I-80 east and head to Port Royal but it seems Western Pa sprint car haulers have some kind of computer chip built in them that the furthest east they can go is Tri-City Speedway before they shut them down....

correction.  Looks like Wayne County will get racing in and there ain't no reason Mercer sprints can't make it there to race.  Hope to see a ton of them at Wayne County.  I'd bet they'd welcome any 305's through their gate too.  Load um up and let's see what local Mercer 305 and 410 talent will make the 20 car field?

305's vs. 410's.  What's the handicap?

Sorry to be pedantic, but Lernerville is slightly east of Tri City.  It doesn't change your point, but I just had to be a jerk about it.

Looks like A.J. Flick, Jack Sodeman Jr., John Garvin, and George Hobaugh headed east to Port Royal tonight.

Glad that 4 of the Western PA sprint cars went to Port Royal last night it's nice to see a couple teams making a effort to expand and travel a little bit. Great job by all of them but Aj Flick showed what a talented kid he was and got a top 10 on a new unfirmiliar track

A few of them usually do, maybe you just don't read about it on this message board....quite a few were at Bedford earlier this year as well.  Maybe you should try going yourself and see who's there.  On that thought, quite a few of them have been racing in Ohio this year as well.

Would have been perfect for locals to try out Wayne County last night, they had just 10 sprints there which included Jim Morris.  Even with just 10 cars there it was a good race with the track being very fast, after being run in after a short rain.  I never saw so few fans in the stands there as last night.

Congratulations to AJ Flick for his 10th place run at Port Royal!!  Impressive effort in his first race against the PA Posse guys.  Sodeman (19th) was the only other one of our guys to make the main!!  36 cars on hand, which is great the way car counts are nowadays!!      Also congratulations to Ryan Blaney for his fifth place finish at Kansas last night.  These third generation drivers are doing it!!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Walt

Looks like only ten of them would have made the feature at Wayne County.

Just trying to cover the backs of some of the locals, but arent most of them closer to Ohio tracks anyway? I think Sodeman is based out of Ohio and the Matus group is close up in Wampum. The only local driver that might be closer to Posse territory would be the Flick kid in Pittsburgh. Maybe that is why most of them dont go east more often.
