Think they need to change the slogan..."where Saturday nights come alive" just doesn't fit anymore

On the bright side, Mercer regulars will all have fresh equipment for 2017

Can we just admit that they only want to run specials? The mod and stock guys need to just come to Sharon. They'll at least give an honest effort. Sprint car guys, go to Wayne County, the Florys are good people and will welcome you with open arms.

At some point you have to wonder if they will race again. I really feel for their race teams, if they have any left.

They need to clean house, plain and simple. If they had young enthusiastic people who wanted to promote and make drivers and fans feel welcome and happy to be there, they wouldn't have to be so concerned with losing money. The problem is they have a bunch of cranky old pricks running the place. They make you feel like an asshole for spending your money there and then talk to everyone like children.

410 guys should consider running Wayne County.  They get good car counts and awesome racing every week.  Been driving past Mercer to get there for 2 years now.  Put a nail in it.  Its done.

Doesn't matter how old the employees are when the owner says "Cancel." That is what you do. He has the place for sale. All somebody needs to do is step up and buy it. There are some things driving his decision. Bottom line, he calls the shots.

I don't know about Mercer, but I know the ground in northern Butler is soaked.  The track just might be a huge mud bog.  I've seen that track like that, and you really don't want to try to run on it.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

It matters when the the crowds and car counts are dwindling and he's losing his ass on nice nights because of how you people act. It's impossible to have a good financial night on a bad night if you can't have them on a good night. I'm well aware of his reasons for cancelling, we've heard the song and dance routine of Mr. Altman refusing to lose money this year. What he can't understand is the way you guys run the place is why profitable nights are hard to come by.

And I know, I know, if I don't like it buy it. That's the motto of many successful businesses, let me tell you. Its no hair off my ass if they close, I love the place but there's too many tracks anyways.

Owner is a joke. Hope the place shuts down and he loses his a$$. Beautiful night in Mercer not a drop of rain. As was stated above lots of other tracks. It's a shame Mercer had to end up in such poor hands. A lot of good history is going to be forgotten.

The owner and certain employees did that place in....it's a lost cause at this point.

I can't wait for them to blame social media and message boards for their issues. Mismanagement certainly couldn't be the problem.

Lack of track prep and management.  Can't start late every week when you do race, have it as dusty as it is.  Then expect people to show up when there is a chance of rain.  Nobody to blame but themselves.  Let's not forget the employees that make fools of themselves on here and social media as well.

I agree on all points
