If you look at Sharon's website, back on Dec 20, they posted that they put 140 tons of red clay on the track, and praised the crew from Port Royal for coming and helping them. What I don't understand is I believe that was WRONG. less than two weeks ago, someone hired 10 McClymonds trucks to haul clay all day! Wonder where they put it,??? That was not enough time to work and mix it in. maybe next week will be better. If they work it.

Four top Lernerville cars, Ferree, Miley, King & Norris!! No one came from the Northern Tier and only Yoder from further east!! Lucas has a stronger contingent of full time drivers than the WoO and I guess many of the "locals" just figured they would have a slim chance to make the show!!
GOOD RACING!!!!

Ok. After much anticipation Sharon had there Lucas race. I have seen and watched the local SLM scene for many years. I made comment that I thought they would get 27 cars. Lucky guess, but what I don't understand is why ? So few local cars showed up that I just don't get it. They gave Lernerville's regulars the night off. Correct me if wrong but 1 car showed up. Nobody from PPMS, Barbarra, but he doesn't run wkly any longer. No Blairs, No Lake, Thunder mtn. Eriez/stateline. I would have thought 40 to 45 cars but after slowing down and thinking about particular guys. I just don't have a answer. The track went to sh*t, that was expected, all my years of moving dirt that track peeled like a banana. You can't put new material down and think it's going to bind with what's there. They watered heavy hoping it was going to mend together. Only thing that did was create soft pockets and it feel apart. Shame, they new the date for this race long ago.
There was three weekly Lernerville cars, Ferree, King, and Norris. Miley was there and he runs Lernerville most weeks, too.
The track that really should have benefitted from Lernerville being off is Dog Hollow. They got 13 cars.

Yep, Dog Hollow 13 cars, and none from Lernerville. Only 14 at Bedford after 13 both previous weeks.

I'm sure someone will be quick to come here and point to this and all their wins at the end of the year. They will undoubtedly have a ton between the two of them.
If I'm a 40 year old man who wins a 4th grade karate tournament, should I get praised for winning the tournament even though all I did was beat up 9 year olds?

As a fan, I understand the frustration of not seeing the top local teams compete against the national drivers when they come to town. Unfortunately for some it's just a business decision. If they don't feel they have the equipment/ability to compete and get a reasonable return on their investment they don't. It's no different than the Sprint cars not supporting the Lernerville outlaw shows or some of the Mods not supporting the Dirt show at Sharon last year. That's the way it's always been in racing, and I don't think it will change anytime soon.

Typical cherry picker. So let me guess they just finished up the motor a few hours before they had to be at the track today.
So how did you and your team do at Sharon's Lucas race and at McKean County??
Have to let us know how you do at Port Royal tonight......

I think this is the issue people have with the Blairs. They DO have the equipment, resources and ability. They've made it clear that they'd rather take all that and win crate races by half a lap than try to run with the Lucas guys at Sharon or the WoO guys at the Firecracker. They are the proverbial adults winning the 4th grade karate tournament.

To conform to rules this year you need: on board fire extinguisher system, bolt on wheel covers, compliant fuel cell, and a full containment seat. (Not that I disagree with any of it)
On top of that you need tires that you'll probably just run for that show.
Dishing out a decent amount of money for a slim chance of return for most teams.

Colton flinner is doing it somehow and he has one tenth of the resources as the Blairs do.
I wasn't speaking on the Blair's, should have clarified that I was speaking more to why Lernerville and PPMS cars were not there.
Blair's haven't run big races outside Erie and McKean that I know of for years.
People can talk smack on them all they want but they are successful doing what they are doing and it's there money.
