Emma Garin once told me that it was a half mile 20 foot in from the outside rail..so like posted above,5/8 mile or for the mathematically correct .625 lol

My Cousin was an official at an Ohio racetrack he told me the policy usually was to report the track size at the shortest measurement on the inside for insurance purposes the bigger the track the more risk the higher the rate would be so I imagine it may be listed as .50 I only remember racing there one time at PPMS it was big like Clearfield mountain raceway but I think Clearfield was even bigger than PPMS. Haven't been down there for years if Mercer wasn't 10 minutes from the house I would venture down.

Plan to run the 1/2 mile

Stay away from the 5/8 Mile as you will meet " The bolts"!

Rumor is that it is 1/2 mile at the inside guardrail.

Next Sprint race if some push truck drivers would ride around next to the inside or outside guard rail, they could report back here about distance or distances measured.

If you are or know a push truck driver, would you try it or ask who you know to try and get a measurement to post?

the problem with that is not many push trucks that go to ppms are new enough to have a digital odometer for an accurate reading. And when you change tire size it's not an accurate reading. Best option would be an unmodified utv.

OK

Then would someone there Sprint racing measure with the UTV they use to push their car onto the track.

Imho after driving both I'd say that clearfield and ppms are nearly identical in size.

The car's perfect Harry!.

1/2 mile on inside. Racing grove 5/8 mile. Against wall 3/4 mile.

Scaling it from Google Earth as shown in the attached pic by the yellow line, it is 0.45 miles on the inside and 0.55 miles around the wall.
