Well crazylarry I know for a fact that there's favortism towards Awtey from management and owners....I'm not gonna mention any names to keep his name out of this and the one who told me is a friend of mine....A couple years ago my friend got invited to the press box for races for the whole year....This was when Jayme Beck got the shaft at Jennerstown and left to go pursue her dirt racing career.....He told me that a couple of the owners and friends would sit up there and drink and carry on and root for Jayme to crash her car and acted so immature...They would sit up there and drink and cuss and root for Awtey...When a few of the late model drivers started teaming up on Jayme and tried to wreck her on purpose she had enough and went back to dirt track racing...There is so much favortism at that place it's ridiculous..Awtey might have the all-time wins there on asphalt but like someone else commented on this board he has no competition there and hasn't for years...9 or 10 cars ...Do the math!...1 in 9 or 10 chances is easier to win than 1 in 24 !

How many tracks are getting 24 Late Models for a weekly show nowadays???   There used to be a lot more cars at the dirt tracks as well.  Some aren't getting much more than Jennerstown for a weekly show, Pittsburgh less!!  Unfortunately, times have changed and with the high cost of racing and less interest in cars and driving by the younger generation, car counts may never recover!!

Hardly anyone gets that many cars Walt but the point is Peles had more wins than Awtey till recently and Peles did it when the fields of cars were good but your point is right on,the times have changed with car counts now !

So that is your evidence of favoritism? That just proves my point you sir are an idiot im positive you have never sat in a race car. All you idiots think alike let me clear this up for you sometimes on the track there is contact between cars and sometimes there is retaliation and sometimes a friver will take out another driver on purpose. This is very rare. First of all uou risk damage and injury to you and your own car. This happens in the lower divisions sometimes.but rarely in the late models.nor many people will risk injury and destruction of 2 75000.00 race cars and to say that the owners drank beer and rooted for awtey is favoritism is ridiculous. Racing is a competition every person at the track is rooting for there favorite driverthats why we go believe me if you interviewed awteys competitors they would all tell you he is a hard nosed great racecar driver that races hard and clean now SHUT UP

Walt

Some of us get confused (myself included) about the good ole days of full fields.  If on Facebook, go to western pa racing history. Lots of old clippings from the 70's, 80's & 90's. The tracks with regular weekly shows rarely had more than 2 heats for the late models. Full fields were 16 to 20 cars at most tracks. Even some of the "invitational" races never had a last chance or b main.

Once again Larry I'm no idiot, you are....What does being a driver have to do with any of this !?....NOTHING!!!...You must be one of those Jennerstown suckasses with a mentality of 0 !....I'm sorry to give you the "Cold Hard Facts" about your beloved "Awtey" but what I told you what I heard about him from my buddy is the truth so you say what you want....So you enjoy going to Awteyville Speedway and hope you enjoy all the drama that unfolds week to week....Awe,if you talk to management and owners tell them to keep all the favoritism up because they're doing a great job of it !...Ok,you go crawl in your little hole and take a nap !

The free tickets are not the issue here. I personally think this is a good idea to bring back the crowds.
I know from personal experience the once track owner and awtey made it very difficult to race at Jennerstown.
It was a constant struggle to compete against those odds, but sometimes the underdog does win.
The incidents that Wolfie29 references sound a little crazy, but what I have experienced with this team, and the actual actions
that awtey and his team have done concerning Jayme Beck leaves no doubt in my mind that they are true.

Thank you bezerker for being a believer in what I said....I would not make this up just to make a story....Ya know I use to go to J-town weekly back when they first paved the track for about the first 5 yrs or so but I really got bored with the racing because I'm a diehard dirt track fan so I stopped being a weekly fan....But getting back to what you was saying about the "Owner / Awtey" thing there I know for sure who you're talking about which owner it was and I never cared for the guy at all...You probably know as much as I do about Awtey working for this particular owner when he owned his other business besides the race track that was given to him by his daddy so he never had to work a day in his life and would drive around in his fancy sport cars....A former General Manager at the track who worked for this owner there told me that he had Jennerstown going in the right direction but he would never listen to him and told me how much of an ass he was so he ended up getting fired because his ideas made sense but the jerk of an owner didn't wanna hear the truth how to make things better...You probably know who I mean bezerker ?

So because dave wheeler bought the track that awtey raced at for ten previous years he should quit racing there so somebody wont drink beer and root for him? Im curious did awtey get favoritism when he won his championsipS at motordrome and clearfeild where dave wheeler had no ownership and there were they had different officials in the pressbix drinking beer. .anotherthing you should lok into tgat incident with jamie beck before making accusations. Try to find a late model driver that will day anything positive about jamie becks time and actions at jennerstown now once again SHUT UP

You don't know very much larry, do you?...That's what I thought....You said Awtey raced there 10 previous years before Wheeler had the track ....Try about 20+ years he raced there going back to the dirt days "Doufas"....

And who said I was talking about Wheeler?.....Now I'll keep you thinking "Pea Brain".....And by the way "Sparky" Motordrome and Clearfield has nothing to do with Jennerstown... I don't think the management at those two tracks would of favored Awtey and catered to him because they weren't his local tracks ...Nice try to get off the subject though...Ok,go back in your hole and take a nap ....

First off I can carry my own weight "Little Larry" and handle myself...I know of Barry's reputation and the whole pit crew how they all act like tough guys and think they're better than everyone and I know that he was a high school wrestler which makes his head swell...I have no reason to start a fight with him but I would stick up for myself if him or his "Big Tough Pit Crew" would start...You're right "Little Larry"...He gained nothing !!!...His supporters that act like little kids are all a bunch of arrogant and cocky punks!!!...I guess that would include you too sad to say...And so what if I was off 3 or 4 years on how many years he raced....Go back and crawl in your hole and take another nap "Little Larry"....

Crazylarry let's keep on the subject. And yes I personally have stated to your idol that he was not a nice person. (clean version for this site).
I don't want to get into the whole situation that I mentioned above. But it got really low for awtey and said track owner, when they used the banquet as a means to get back at this team. And that's all I am going to say about my experience with this so called champion of yours. Low class. No matter his accomplishments it only takes one time, in his case one year, to tarnish what he worked so hard to achieve.

It's pretty bad and childish when the owner and the driver get back at someone at the banquet....Steve Peles,Glen Gault,Clate Husted,Tim Ice,Mark Cottone and many more drivers that raced against Awtey all had more class than him but it doesn't take much !...Hey "Little Larry", ain't it about your nap time again !
