               CARNESVILLE, GA – The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series North East Region Tour will have its first-ever $3,000-to-win, $400-to-start event this Saturday night at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, PA.  The ULTIMATE NE Tour is the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series’ newest Region in its family of four Regions.

 

               The complete payout for the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series North East Region race at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on July 15 is as follows:  1. $3,000; 2. $1,500; 3. $1,000; 4. $800; 5. $700; 6. $600; 7. $550; 8. $525; 9. $500; 10. $475; 11. $450; 12. $425; 13. $410; 14. $400; 15. $400; 16. $400; 17. $400; 18. $400; 19. $400; 20. $400; 21. $400; 22. $400; 23. $400; 24. $400.

 

               A star-studded field of the top Super Late Model driver in Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Eastern Ohio has shown a lot of interest in the new ULTIMATE NE Tour, which was announced in February and designed to give weekly racers an opportunity to run bigger paying races without having to travel a long distance to do so.

 

               Colton Flinner of Allison Park, PA, Alex Ferree of Saxonburg, PA, Jon Hodgkiss of Pittsburgh, PA, Bobby Rohrer of Waterford, PA, Chris Ladner of Pittsburgh, PA, Michael Lake of Uniontown, PA, Steve Pyeritz of Pittsburgh, PA, Keith Barbara of South Park, PA, Ryan Montgomery of Fairmont, WV, John Wayne Weaver of Pittsburgh, PA, Tony Musolino of Pittsburgh, PA, Russ King of Bristolville, OH, John Mollick of Toronto, OH, and John Flinner Jr. of Zelienople, PA are among the drivers looking to compete in the Inaugural ULTIMATE NE race.

 

               The winner of the July 15 ULTIMATE NE Region Race at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will be a guaranteed starter in PPMS’ premier event, the $20,000-to-win 29^th Annual Pittsburgher 100 on October 6-7.  The July 15 race will be the first of two ULTIMATE NE races this season at PPMS, with the second $3,000-to-win, $400-to-start race on the schedule for August 26.

 

               “The excitement is building for this race, as more and more drivers call us to ask questions and tell us they’ll be there,” ULTIMATE NE Director Rose Compton said.  “We’re glad we’re having this race at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway because this has historically been one of the strongest tracks in the area, and their staff and management has been great to work with.  We just can’t wait for Saturday to get here!”

 

Since most tracks had already set their season schedules by the time the ULTIMATE NE Region was formed in February of this year, the series will run a non-points, non-points fund-paying Pilot Introductory 2017 season  designed to give the series, the tracks and the competitors an opportunity to get to know each other. 

 

               ULTIMATE NE Competitor Membership is not required for the 2017 season, and no point fund will be paid.  Plans are already being made for a complete schedule of events in the Pennsylvania, Northern Ohio and New York area for 2018, and the ULTIMATE NE Region competitors will run for a point fund next season.

 

               ULTIMATE NE is one of four Regions under the ULTIMATE umbrella of Regional Super Late Model racing.  The concept of the ULTIMATE Regions is to give dirt tracks an opportunity to present an affordable brand of exciting super late model racing in a special event that is enjoyable to both fans and competitors.

 

The ULTIMATE South East Region was formed in 2011, and the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series Battle of the Bluegrass Region was formed in 2016 to cover Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee.  The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series Mid-Ohio Valley Region for West Virginia and Southern Ohio joined ULTIMATE NE this year as the newest ULTIMATE Regions.

Does anyone know who or what to expect with this series? I know it's their first show, so there aren't any regulars. $3,000 is better than a weekly purse, but not enough to get guys to travel very far and there is no point fund. I'd make the drive if I thought there was going to be a decent car count, but I don't want to go for 14 or 16 cars. I really don't want to hear any bashing, just wondering what everyones thoughts are?

Pittsburgh prices are always high.  But this Saturday is hardly a regular Saturday night, Late Model purse is quite a bit higher than usual.  How many extra cars they get remains to be seen.  Rarely is there sub-par racing at PPMS, which I why I will go there until the place closes.

If Lernerville is $3000 to win weekly, $400 to start and more than 6 combined passes in the entire Firecracker 100 then you are finally correct about PPMS versus Lernerville!

I think one of the security guards escorting me out one night up there mentioned that...nice guys,even followed me to the truck out in the parking lot..guess they were worried about my safety?

Hey, there trying to bring in a series that nobody knows much about as far as what cars will show up. I say good for them and at least they are trying. Lernerville's firecracker was a wash out, for the ammount of rain, people were lucky to see any racing at all. In those cases i don't no who it is that makes the call but i think it would have been better off if they would have cancelled and came up with a rain date. I'm sure a cancellation would have lit a fire under some and the Tomson's would have been blasted. The payout for this race at PPMS is pretty good, 400 to start, so I think you may be surprised by the driver turn out. For PPMS sake I hope so because if not let the roasting begin.

Well I paid 74 dollars for just Saturday for 2 tickets. So where do I get this refund if both tickets were used? Just so you understand one was for the afternoon race and the other for the night race. I have no ticket from thursday because they cancelled before I got there. I didn't buy in advance because the extra $5 wasn't a big concern of mine. So if I would have got my 3 day pass thursday yes I would have a raincheck. But I wasn't able to get that option. And I only live in a trailer park a few times a year and a 2-3 day latemodel race is right next door. In case you don't understand I mean I hook my camper to the back of my truck tow out to the racetrack and camp there for 2-3 days. If any of this is hard for you to understand, I encourage you to stop at my race shop and I can walk you through the process of how it works. And then we can go to my house if you bring your kids and they can go swimming while we sit on my deck drinking beer and bullshitting about racing. I will have my wife cook us some dinner and then you can head home thinking to yourself that you just called a pretty awesome guy with a great family, trailer trash because you don't know what you are talking about.

you type PPMS, Mercer, or RUSH and you had to figure the fireworks were going to start. I'm guilty sometimes also, the RUSH take over just isn't for me. But, others are happy so be it.
