Why is this any different than Boland's radio?????
You're seriously saying that signaling with two sticks that the driver may not even see due to dust/other cars is just like two way radio communications?

just race. if as a driver your not smart enough to move around on the track then you don't deserve the win. if your using it to signal your driver were to block a guy. throw the black flag and let him load up with out any $$$.
I like alex and this is not a knock on him.
at the pittsburgher does the 10 team use someone to tell him were he is ? my guess is they would be to embarassed.

Big time late models racers all have somebody signaling them.
It amazes me how little some of you understand racing.

I'm sure his guy is standing with the other 24 guys waving their sticks. And then bloomquist's guy is stuffed in a hole where only he can see him. And I'm sure they have a completely different set of signals than everyone else lol.just race. if as a driver your not smart enough to move around on the track then you don't deserve the win. if your using it to signal your driver were to block a guy. throw the black flag and let him load up with out any $$$.

Bayko, at golden isles when the lucas guys were there this spring. there stick boys were all lined up going into 1 and 2. they looked like a bunch of idiots. the track was locked down to 1 lane follow the leader racing. yet these guys kept moving for position, I still haven't figured that one out, and the dust and the speed these guys were flying into turn 1. come on, I could see it under a yellow, maybe signal hi or low on the track. but again for the surface they were racing on. it was a train race. all aboard......

You clearly gave no idea what the signals mean.
If you knew all the Lucas guys have guys that signal them, why in the hell would Ferree's crew be embarrassed to have a signal guy?
It's really pathetic that you're so fired up about this.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

In 2000 I watched Tony Stewart and his crew guys at Volusia county speedway in Florida all grab those big six cell mag lights and head to different corners of the track to signal Danny Lasoski. After that I allways had a guy in turn one at my usual Saturday night track with a flashlight. One blink was watch the bottom...Two Blinks was watch the top. It really helps on restarts if you know where the guy behind you might try you. At this track...there was no way possible to have anyone in turn 3. I had many guys after the feature was over tell me "Your allmost impossible to pass". I figured if it worked for Tony Stewart...it would work for me and it did. All the Big Boys do it!

I am not on either side of this issue, but it sure does exist, at least with some of the big teams. While reading these lines the past few days I came across a photo of a couple of "stick men" giving signals during the Silver Dollar Nationals at the I-80 Speedway. The photo is in the current September issue of DIRT LATE MODEL Magazine. If you have the issue, check out pages 84-85 at the back of the magazine.
GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!
