FINAL RACE OF THE 2017 SEASON FOR THE HOMAK PENN OHIO PRO STOCK SERIES WILL TAKE PLACE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6 & SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7 AT PITTSBURGH PENNSYLVANIA’S MOTOR SPEEDWAY!

For Immediate Release

October 2, 2017 (Sandy Lake, PA) The season finale for the 2017 Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series is set for this Friday, October 6th and Saturday, October 7th.  The Series will participate in the Pittsburgher 100 at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania’s Motor Speedway located at 170 Kelso Road, Imperial, PA.

The event is the third race for the Series in 2017 at PPMS.  The 20 lap feature event will pay $1,500 to win and will be a series’ point race for both the Touring Series and M & T Allison Construction Segment Two.  Series Director, Shaun Hooks stated, “The point chase to determine the 2017 Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series Point Champion for the touring series will come down to this final event.  Rusty Martz has held the lead so far, but Bobby Whitling and Rusty Moore are within striking distance.  Needless to say, it will be an exciting event for the drivers and fans as it all unfolds!”

The “M & T Allison Construction Segment Two Shoot Out” consists of the three Touring Series’ races at PPMS on June 3rd; August 5th; and October 6th & 7th.  Touring Series Members racing at these races receive points for the Touring Series, as well as points for the segment two point chase worth $1,000 to-win, paying the top five in the segment points.  Along with M & T Allison Construction, Miley Truck/CruiseAmerica Rentals will contribute to this three-race point chase.

The 29th annual Pittsburgher event will have qualifying events on Friday with the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stocks participating in warm ups, time trials, and heat races.  Tech inspection and pill draw will begin at 2 p.m., grandstand gates opening at 5, warm ups at 6, and time trials to follow warm ups.  Heat races will not start prior to 7 p.m.  There will also be a parking lot party with music by Millertime at 10 p.m.  Saturday will have gates open all day and cleared as needed, warm ups at 6 and racing at 7 p.m.

A $35 registration fee will be charged to all drivers.  The registration fee will give drivers an opportunity at the $1,500 to-win prize, a Hoosier tire presented by Precise Racing and Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic, a $50 hard charger awarded by Shaffer’s Auto & Exhaust, and a Big Daddy’s $25 gift certificate.  Homak Penn Ohio Touring Series drivers will be eligible for a variety of additional contingency prizes donated by Les Frickshun, Dirt Defender, Close Racing, Genesis Shocks, Schoenfeld Headers, ARbodies, Big Daddy’s Speed Center, Precise Racing Products, and Wedge Motorsports.
