Are the for sale signs still up?

Maybe someone bought it.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

The signs were still up I will probably be up that way tomorrow I might drive by the track to see if they are still hauling there was a lot of piles dumped I couldn't tell if it was dirt or what can't really tell for sure too far away it definitely didn't look like limestone or gravel I guess time will tell whether I will be going to Lernerville or Sharon next year I sure like Mercer as I am only about 10 minutes or so from the track.

i heard the couple running thunder mountain speedway are wanting to run mercer.  i was there a few times this year and it seems they run thunder mountain pretty well by the crowd size, food, and track surface

Hopefully that is the case. It makes no sense not to lease it if someone is interested. The only issue I see is what classes do you run ? Or are they going to make a 2 track series deal with the guys running Friday night ? Mercer in my eyes has always been a open wheel division track. But I think sharon and ppms have all but locked the sprint cars up for Saturday night.

All Mercer has to do is raise up tow money and start money even lowering the top payout and the top cars say 5 or 6 cars who pick Sharon and PPMS to run at will have no one to race with except themselves.

I just spoke directly with the folks leasing Thunder Mountain, and can tell you with 100% certainty that they plan on putting all of their efforts into that track again this year. There is NO truth to any rumor that they are running ANY other tracks next year.

No clue what the actual plans of any of those other tracks are, but Im telling you what ISNT happening.

I talked to a guy I know who worked at the track he said Bill was just letting a construction company that needed a place to dump dirt put it there so my wishful thinking was just that it really has nothing to do with the track according to him.

I will tell what Bill Altman told me on the last regular show as we sat in his golfcart, plus I have worked at Mercer since Vicki owned it,Bill look straight at me and said heis not opening up ,but has to have at least 1 event cause of the zoning laws which will be the truck and tractor pulls,it costs less to pay the taxes then opening the gates.hopefully someone will buy buy 850grand is a little steep.

Just my humble opinion, but Eriez asking price is much more reasonable, so if Eriez doesn't sell at $600-$650k , I can't see Mercer going for $850k, but I'm not the one with the check book....

It's over guys. It's time to accept it and move on. Mercer is my home track and always will be first in my heart, but the old men's club that refused to adapt even a little bit the last 5 years killed the place.

I agree. I can see this place sitting idle for one year then reopening the following year.
