POrt Royal Tire Rule Super Lates

All four tires must be:
-
Hoosier: 1300 or harder
-
American Racer:  44 or harder
-
Minimum durometer reading of 32 at anytime

-If you take more than 10 minutes to swap a tire, you shouldn't be doing it

-If you only carry one (HARD?) compound when many are allowed, your leaving a LOT on the table

-If you only have 4-6 wheels.... and racing Superlates, you need to step it up or move down to a class you can race best in... within your budget.

If all of the above: you shouldn't be racing Superlates

I'm tired of excuses, those that make them are just testifying to their own inadequacies.

If your making excuses, your likely not a consistent top 10 car anywhere.... on any tire!

If your serious about winning...(that's the goal in racing??) you do what you gotta do and get what you need, or get in class you can be a winner in, not a whiner!

https://www.thefreed...nary.com/whiner

Everyone is on the same tire at Lernerville, that saves $$$. Hauling half way across the state instead of buying tires makes no sense.

This sport (and country) has way too many whiners.

I'm done, no more to say on this topic.

B)

You guys want more guys to race there, they tell you why they dont race there and you refuse to accept it. This isnt speculation, Bidwell owns a late model and tells you exactly why they dont go. Sure everyone is on the same tire at Lernerville, but thats the only track in the state that runs that tire.

Bidwells car was there pretty regularly just a couple years ago. Hes known to be a flip floppy hypocrite, though.

Crow saying it carries far more weight.

Just sayin.

When's the last time they raised pay?

Pretty sure it was Don Martin who did it--no joke.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Lernerville will always be successful.  Put on a decent 4 division show and look at the population within a 50 mile radius to draw from.  Some tracks like Thunder Mountain are in the middle of nowhere with a lot less people nearby. JMHO

I would say a new XR-1 or Longhorn or comparable with a top notch engine and shocks is over $100k.  Its more the principal than anything else.  This is dirt racing and we don't like people telling us what to do.  If we did we would he racing a pavement track with Nascar sanction. I agree.  I would not spend $125.00 for a membership and like $200.00 for tires that I would only run there when I was on a tire deal for the regular tires that you can run at any track other than that track!  I am surprised you don't have to buy your fuel there as well??? Maybe you do.  Dirt racers are dirt racers because they don't want to put up with control! Lernerville would easily pick up 25% more cars without the Dirt Sanction.  But then they wouldn't get the Outlaw races.  So I guess it must be worth it to them???  If you were traveling with the series....Then you would have to buy the tires and follow the rules.  And then it wouldn't matter when you were in the area if from here to run Lernerville.  I just don't  see many Saturday night racers buying into the control, costs and rules!. All about the principle as much as the cost!

You bring up a good point here. They must REALLY think the Outlaw sprints makes all this worth it for them. I dont see it at all. The prestige the WoO Sprint series had during Kinser and Swindells primes isnt really there anymore, so I dont see how they wouldnt be better off dropping this sanctioning body (UMP Dirtcar) that everyone hates, picking up Lucas sanctioning for the Firecracker, which would be better anyway and would happen in a nano-second, and rolling with the ASCoC, which really isnt that huge a drop off. This obviously also increases the weekly count for guys who wont race under the UMP rules. I just really dont see how having the WoO Sprints is worth all this.

So, does every track that gets WoO series events have to kiss the rears of Dirt Megacorp Inc. in their weekly programs? What business are the local tracks' weekly shows to Dirt Megacorp? If so then the time would be right for Tony Stewart to pick up his ball and make the series he already owns the premiere series, and let Too Big for Our Own Britches Inc. get their desperately needed lesson in humility.

we came twice to lernerville that year, only because of matt's work schedule......king gave us some beaters, and away we went. that was the only day we could race those two weekends. we run 1300 or harder tracks, which is all of them around here......but islandville. they are the most expensive of all hoosier tires, .......plus guys who race there, say it isn't fun anymore. means, don't go.

I don't have a car, nor have I ever driven one, but would it make it more intriguing for teams to come if they did something like if 20+ cars come they run for say 2200 anything less they run for normal prize?

So you're going to let a $100K worth of equipment sit in the driveway over principal?  That's an awfully expensive, 4-wheeled garden gnome.

Some of these regional drivers youre hoping to attract run, say, 10 different tracks in a year in their $100k car. 9 of them they run the same tires that they probably get for around $100 each. and when the weather changes or a special pops up, they take their car and tire rack and head to another track...... unless that change is lernerville. You either plan on running there with a rack full of different, more expensive tires, or you dont. Just because teams have money to invest, doesnt mean they enjoy wasting it. They have their loyal drivers and a few guys who plan on running a handful of races, but will not ever be a track that draws guys from anywhere else. Good or bad, just the way it is. Theyve always had a good field of quality cars, so it worked. By the looks of the results so far, its Been a one man show this year. Maybe thatll frustrate more into leaving, maybe itll attract some strong cars that want to prove themselves. Time will tell.

I'm saying run another Friday night track like Dog-hollow, Bedford, Thunder Mountain, Thats in your area and run whatever brand of tire you choose!

I think the speculation Lernerville having to be DirtCar to get the WoO is not accurate. Plenty of tracks without Dirt/Ump sanctioning get both. With the sprints nearly every track running a weekly 410 program run under the same rules anyways so it's not that much different. Opening up the mods would make them more affordable, actually AR is throwing around tons of money to Mods to get in the American Racer Cup for weekly racers and also would open things up for drivers out east like Watt, VonDohren, Strunk, Laubach, Howard, Pauch and the list could go on and on to come in for a Short Track Super Series race. That is why Williamson is running Freedom for the weekly AR Cup points. If you win the weekly, and both region touring points is a really big chunk of change. Pay is better than Super Dirt Car.

Benny what you don't understand is that all those other tracks were not owned by wrg.

Lernerville also does not pay a sanction fee for the firecracker the World of Outlaw Sprints or the Steel City Stampede as it is a 50/50 split on everything.

Lucas Oil already wanted the firecracker a year ago when new management came aboard at Lernerville and wrg threatened to pull out all their sprint races. You know those Sprint racea make a killing for Lernerville.

I was told by lucas oil officials that lucas wants a show at lernerville but the wrg contract says no. Lucas wanted a april show but got denied , reason they went with sharon.
