After the fire of his business and loss of his friend pikel has backed out and won't be opening the speedway
Can't blame him. I hope for the best for him considering what happened.
The stoners that killed that lady should both get the chair and before the end of the year, but only one of them will likely see any repercussions at all, and that nowhere near the magnitude of what they did.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

The Marion Center Speedway is sad to announce that the reopening scheduled for July 21, 2018 is being postponed!
Due to the terrible tragedy that the new management has suffered just 2 days after agreeing to reopen the race track, Danny Pikel, Melissa Gearhart, and Neal Watkins have decided that this just is not good timing with the loss of Danny's very dear friend, and his business. We regretfully have to rescind our roles as the new management team. If anyone out there is interested in helping to get "The Thrill On The Hill" back up and running please contact Janet Potts at 724-840-4008, or June Potts at 724-388-6212.

Very much a shame, but totally understandable. MC is a good little LM track, I hope something works out for them in the future.
