While I was really hoping the track was going to open, business arrangements should not be made in haste. I am totally not up on how insurance works for a race track. But I would think if I owned a track, and I leased it, as an owner, I would have a policy just to insure that I could not loose my butt if the leasee didn't have any/enough insurance, and a serious accident happened. Because when people sue, everyone is included, even the owner of the track. I hope things get worked out and they still run SLM and on Saturdays.

Hope they run, but Super Lates on a Saturday isn't going to work!!   Split up all the SLM in that area between Hummingbird, Dog Hollow and Marion Center and maybe none of them will have a decent field!!!   Just about every Late Model track in western PA is struggling with car counts!!!   Last week no track got more than 15 for a regular show while Lernerville and Dog Hollow only got 18 and 15 for extra purse races.  And Crate engine cars really aren't the answer either!!  Last week Pittsburgh had 23 , Raceway 7 18, but Dog Hollow only 11, McKean County 12 and Stateline only 19 for a $2,000 to win RUSH Touring series race.   Overall Late Models are having some serious car count problems!!!     Seems to me whoever a new promoter at Marion center may be, he should consider  Sunday nights like Merle Black was going to do!!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL

The ULMS race at DH had 25 cars Walt,  but that's still light for a 5k show.  If there is a local track that can make it with no SLM it might be Marion Ctr.  They have a strong local fan base and very good steel blocks and pure stocks(or at least they have in the past).  I just don't know about Sundays though,  and I think DH is staying put on Sat's

"Its funny to me that every comment that was on here telling the truth has been deleted. The potts family no longer cares about racing so many people have already tried to help them and the date keeps changing until they just get pushed out. That track would have been running sunday the 29 as planned if the potts wanted it to but they put a stop to it. They got a ton of improvements done to the place with no expense to them new bleachers new bathroom doors new sound system just to name a few then decided to not allow anyone on the property after the work was done. Would not give a key to the new promoter even though he had OVER $5000.00 of food pop and other items. The new promoter was traveling 2 hours one way everyday to work on the track n get it ready and was spending his own money to do so but was not allowed a key or use of any equipment. The insurance that needed to be put on the track had to be taken care of by the potts as there was no contract so the new promoter could not get it himself with out a signed contract. The potts said they could not get the insurance on time so they postponed it till aug 5. Thats when the new promoter wanted a signed lease agreement so he could acquire the insurance himself. The terms could have been discussed but the potts just locked everyone out threatened workers and stopped returning phone calls. So the only ones to blame for all of this is the Potts. I dont know how many other people they have taken advantage of like this, But i hope its the last. The track has great potential but not as long as they keep doing this. As far as June and her health we wish her the best."
