Sarver, PA (October 9, 2018) History will be made this weekend at The Action Track as the biggest Steel City Stampede closes out our 2018 season. A record 12 divisions will take part in the 10th annual edition of the three day festival of speed which will once again feature all three top classes, racing for $3,000 to win each.

 

It’s an opportunity for fans to take in one last weekend of racing, and a chance for drivers to score one more big win before the off season is upon us. Joining the action in 2018 for the first time will be the Elite Modified Series, RUSH Sprint Cars and 270cc Micro Sprints as they add their programs to the stacked lineup that includes Open Stocks, UMP/EModifieds, RUSH Late Models, RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 Sprint Cars, and 4 Cylinders.

 

There’ll be several season ending points battles to keep an eye on as well in the RUSH Late Model touring championship as Jason Genco brings a four point lead over Jeremy Wonderling in the annual touring series standings.  In RUSH Sportsman Modified touring action, there’s a three way battle atop the standings as leader Chas Wolbert, second place driver Garrett Krummert and third running Brandon Ritchey are separated by just six points entering the weekend.

 

In 2017, Carl Bowser, Matt Lux and Rex King Jr all took home the cherished belt buckles reserved for the Steel City Stampede feature winners, and while each will be looking to make it two in a row, there will be challenges for each with a variety of invaders set to make an appearance in each of the top three divisions.

 

The action kicks off on Thursday night as rotating hot laps for all divisions take place on our Test and Tune night. Then on Friday, after time trials for the RUSH Late Models, heat races for all divisions will set the lineups for Saturday’s B-Mains and features. Remember, Saturday will carry an early start time as consolation races will start at 4 PM with features tentatively slated to begin at 5:30 PM.

 

After the racing on Friday night, don’t forget to check out an evening of music presented by Y108 FM as Jackson Gardner takes the concert stage, delivering his mix of country, rock and blues for all to enjoy.  The pit concession stand will offer a breakfast menu from 7 AM until 10 AM on both Friday and Saturday.

Could be worse, ppms was $50 for Sunday. 3 day pit pass for $75 is dam good! Im not sure how anyone can complain about it. If thats to high deff should look into other sports I reckon

I suggest you guys don't ever attend races in New Jersey. $20 is regular night general admission for 3 classes, and it's 30 for specials 35 if big sanctioning body is in.

 

It's the same complaints every year, someone posted a flyer on twitter advertising the very first Stampede and admission was exactly the same. They have added more classes and it hasn't went up. The camping however has went way up. This race is what it is, if you are a diehard racing person who loves being at the track and seeing a bunch of cars and classes you enjoy this show. If you like bigger names and higher paying top division shows that are run off real quick and have no interest in the support classes  then this isn't for you. For me as someone who's work forced them to move out of the area, it gives me a good weekend to go home and see all the local classes that I have missed not living in the area anymore, so I enjoy it.

Pms only sells 2 day passes as you will still pay the same price for a one day pass. It was $75 for a two-day pit pass to see a 20000 to win late model race + a 4k
crate feature plus a thousand to win Pure Stock race. They also held other features.

I think it is a fair price for what you are getting, with all the racing you will see. But, I also see people on a budget raising a Family yes it would be high for them. Bottom line is if you can pay the price go, if not you can read how it went on here. Sorry guys I"m just tired of all the bad mouthing and name calling, I thought racing people were better than that!

Anyone been to the track yet? How bad are the grounds, I can't imagine how it could be as bad as Pittsburgh was last week but we've gotten a lot of rain and now it's cool. Just wondering what kind of parking lot situation I'm in for tomorrow night.

The grounds are perfectly fine. You might find a wet spot here and there but I'd say they're 90% in great shape. The track was so slick and Dusty tonight it was Unreal. Apparently Dan has informed the owners that he needs clay put on the track as there is nothing left basically.

I can't say that $25 to get in is ridiculous but I will say that $20 each for my young kids on top of that is going to keep me from attending.

Just a reminder, children 10 and under are admitted free of charge this Friday and Saturday just as they are on most of our race nights with the exception of World of Outlaw events or Monster Truck shows.

I complain on here about everything money wise I see gouging racers, to support them.

 

I won't comment on racer cost because that is not what this thread is about.  I don't think Lernerville front gate FAN cost is out of line in any way.

Ok after kissing up  i have a question for you Lernerville.

 

How about a car owner or driver bonus for supporting the track.  Maybe make 90% of the races at Lernerville for x amount of years, maybe 3?  And you all pony up a dirt membership for driver and car owner or in other words pony up 2 dirt memberships.  And then keep ponying up 2 until a team falls below the 90% or even less attendance status?  It would be giving loyal racers a comp or maybe even other comps for being a loyal racer at the track.

The Tomsons do appreciate the racers and show it. We were given ten free pit passes for bringing our car to the mall show and another ten early in the season just for being a regular at the track (I assume). They are good people and doing the best they can in the interest of our sport and all involved in it. That's my impression of them.

Wrg also gave out 10 free general admission tickets if you brought your car up to the Mills or their other show. This was not started by the new owners as it has been a tradition for many many years. Yes they do thank you for coming to the track. But the price gouging is getting out of hand. If you would talk to the people out in the campground and racers that come out and hang with everybody you will get their opinion on the place and it is not very good they stayed tonight.
