Anyone have any news from the meeting held the other weekend? Any idea of classes they are considering? They posted they had a nice turn out of teams, and would release some info.

Think they are going to run crate Late Models under FASTRAK sanction and other lower support classes.

I heard 4 classes, crate lates, Street Stock, Pure Stock, and 4 cylinder weekly. CL rules still TBD. Seems like they are pretty anti-RUSH though

Yeah, not sure going against RUSH is a good idea, sort of like fighting the empire at this point. Everyone went in another direction seems to have went RUSH eventually, Raceway 7, Dog Hollow, Stateline.

hope the street stocks follow the penn/ohio rules.

Anyone who attended the meeting, like myself would know that Latrobe Speedway is not "Anti-Rush." The Great Vicki was anti Latrobe, Their promoter relayed to us racers at the meeting what she said to him when he asked about possibly becoming a rush track and it was anything far from friendly. At the meeting we were informed that by the promoter she told him "Who are you to decide whether Latrobe races on Saturday", or "You'll never make it with out Rush." I do not see any reason why their new promoter would fabricate such statements, it does not make much difference to a promoter which sanctioning body he uses, it benefits their racers not him. It looks like the greed that Rush Series has expressed over the course of the last 5 years continues to grow. But a vote was taken among the drivers and they decided at the meeting the wanted to Race under the Fastrak Series. So CONGRATULATIONS Latrobe Speedway for being the first track in Western Pennsylvania to end the Rush Series Regime

WAIT . Monopoly Motors save racers tons of money ! they can buy a perfectly all the same ( unless they purchased the legal lightweight crank etc etc etc etc etc ) perfectly equal ( Like Mario Andretti and the Holman Moody motors) and it takes the Motor out of the equation.!.
" There's a sucker born every day " PT Barnam
Get a reality check .. the guys with money buy 20 extra parts you suckers cant afford to be added to your monopoly motor ! you just " Believe " you have the same motor because your tie bolts look the same!
Look forward to going to Latrobe .. never been there but have heard allot of good things about that track !
So you buy a monopoly motor and live way over east but your not welcome to bring it over west here ..
Heck ! there so Cheap .. you just buy 2 ! and then you can go over to sarver once in a while too
so now you have one Monopoly Motor seller blackballing another group of monopoly motor buyers ..
The reason has to be to " save racers money "

I would of thought the 358 limited late class like at Dog-Hollow and Thunder Mt and Marioncenter would of been the way to go. Better racing and less cheater parts to buy. I may have been an occasional fan to see the 358's run there. Crates are not my Bag!. And with no Supers...I doubt I will be attending. Can't be successful without a headliner division!

Raceway 7 has survived for years with Crates as a headliner. Maybe E-Mods or 358/steel blocks at Latrobe would help offset no "top" division. But I don't see a problem with trying to establish the 4 classes listed to get things going.

I disagree with what someone said about " Lower classes
A Penn Ohio Stock car IS A " Latemodel"
a Rocket is a " RACECAR"
In my opinion .. Penn Ohio IS the Latemodel class and TOP division of " Latemodels"
Hobby Stock / PureStock and 4 cylinders are the Lower class to " Latemodels"
and Rockets are " Racecars "
They should be renamed " Prototypes" so Chip Ganassi wont be embarrassed to show up at his local track ( PPMS or Sarver) with Kyle Larson driving a Rocket!
There is absolutely nothing " Latest model in the showroom " abouit a Rocket !
Tire Changers in Nascar make more money than the top 50 " Prototype" regional drivers put together .
Nascar has realized that drifting away from their roots was the dumbest thing they ever did !
time we realize that at the local level
and Monopoly Motors aint it !

"Late Models" are no longer highway cars, so really there should be some new name for the class. Everything is homemade or bought!!
GOOD RACING!!!
