Has anyone ever watched how they do track prep at the Boone nationals ? .........10 races and prep...10 more prep again....they make it look easy.....all it takes is knowledge and equipment ......after managing a track for 5 minutes it should be the #1 priority to prep the track surface......all the PR in the world won't keep racers and fans if the racing sucks or the dust shower leaves ya like ya been planting oats on a dry april afternoon............this could be a great weekend if management would just think ahead instead of playing catch up for 3 days.....only been there a couple times but would sure like to race there in this show....

Exactly. Bring in Helfrich or Sargent for the weekend and the racing would actually be good. But they'll stick with the clowns they have now and nothing will ever change.

I think at one time lernerville brought clay in every year. Today I have no idea. Backing up a few yrs they had more cars more laps on the track surface that was probably the best surface around. Ppms was head to head I'd say at one time. Turn 2 exit at lernerville has and always be the slide from hell if you don't ride the top or cut across it and come out under the slick area. Point being, today's equipment is turning so much more wheel speed . that same wheel speed is killing the surface at a lot of tracks. Lernerville included.

That wheel speed isn't killing the surface at FALS, Macon, Boone, Cedar Lake, Knoxville, Jacksonville, Fayette County, Spoon River, Attica...shall I continue or do you get the point?

Every track in the country has an equal opportunity to have a superb track surface. None of the tracks in this area choose to do so. PPMS is probably better than the majority of them, but it gets better as it slicks off.

Gearhead, I hear ya. But do any of those tracks run 3 premier divisions week in and out ? If you look at car counts Lernerville's big 3 classes, weekly shows, out numbers what most other tracks have in there 1 maybe 2 divisions of hi horsepower race cars.

That won't be relevant on Firecracker weekend. Even if those tracks did run 3 high-horsepower divisions I GUARANTEE that they would adjust their prep accordingly and get even more water into the racetrack. Your argument justifies my previous statement...don't run more divisions than your track prep can handle.

You ever hear of the Boone Speedway IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals??
They get over 800 cars in various divisions for that race!
Their track prep is second to none!!

Eriez prep is an absolute joke and the frontstretch is banked the wrong way. None of those tracks are even close to any of the premier tracks in the midwest.

Well, I don"t see a half dozen Farm Tractors pulling plows at Lernerville or some of the other tracks any time soon. But,, I think what their trying to say is maybe just maybe these tracks should at least put some more effort and pride on the track surface. Just my OP.

Wouldn't the more logical solution be for the local tracks to step up their game and start prepping the tracks like they do out there? That would make the racing better and make the tracks more profitable. Us moving out there doesn't make the racing any better around here.

Everyone was complaining about the race in Quebec its too far why isnt there any big races around here blah blah blah. Then they announce that they are having a huge race at Lernerville and now we are mad about that. Racers and race fans will literally complain about anything and everything.
