Was up helping with brush removal this weekend.  Track is rough but won't take long to get back to normal.  Longest part will be clearing all the brush from the hill sides.

At first I was glad to hear that the old Gamblers track was opening. I looked at the results page to see the car counts at Hummingbird last year. They were like 8-10 purestock 12-14 street 4 cyl and supers. Semi Late had like 15-18 on average.
Dived those by two tracks and you’ll have two crappy shows. Thunder Mountain will probably make out as they’ll be only track with decent car counts. Hope I’m wrong but IMO I don’t think area has enough cars and fans to support Hummingbird Marion Center, Dog Hollow and Gamblers

Jeff Taylor cut the lights down and sold them (not sure to whom).   Hidden Valley had some lights donated to them to get it up and running.   Last I heard they needed a water truck.

Hopefully they make a go of it... Would hate to see it only last a year or two and then end up shutting back down

Its 3 hours from me would love to but not likely
I support 3 tracks in my region
However I did vote for a pro energy independence candidate and NOT Bob Casey who is Anti Coal !
I also send emails and make phone calls to representatives
To that affect
I also hope to go to Latrobe
What about you ?
Ps
These original owners are taking a risk with their money
I wish them well and hope they succeed too
They must have a hope that the economy is repaired enough from the 8 years attack against that region to take that risk

Stop turning posts into political crap....Yes: Politics have an impact in racing.  Yes: Pennsylvania's current government sucks for racers and motorists alike.  .75 cents more per gallon than our neighboring states.  However The track in question is in a Red county.  Most people in this area vote for Coal however the population in Centre, Allegheny and Philidelphia counties far exceeds those who care about racing or the coal industry.  There aren't a ton of cars in this area to support three or 4 tracks.  I had hoped that hidden valley would run Sunday to give themselves a chance.  I fear that they will either be open for a year or two and close or they will ultimately force another track to close

Would someone post the url to searches for each track on here so we can see on a map where they are located?

I'm not sure which track gamblers is or was.  I think it's the track south east of pittsburgh that in my opinion is a pain in the butt to get to with a huge hill along the way.  If it's where I'm thinking for anyone north, east, west or south west of pittsburgh in my thinking it's a pain drive to get there.  It's like on the top of the great north south barrier from the civil war. ???.

edit:  Because of and ONLY because payouts for racers is so shitty more and more racers have NO loyalty to any track or have a reason to support any track and cherry pick or as some call it travel.  YES there going to get some cars.  They'll get cars which feel they have a better chance of having at least McDonalds money in their pockets after the race there and one or maybe two who think they have a better chance at top payout there then other tracks.

If tracks want to maintain drivers, car owners and fans to watch; reduce backgate cost, increase tow and payout.  If tracks keep treating racers like movie going customers there going to keep responding like movie fans and go race where ever it's most interesting for them.  Take care of the racers and fans will take care of the stands.

Dirt student the track is located in Clearfield which is North East of Pittsburgh 1/4 mile bullring and it is a little difficult to get to due to the hill.  but has some great racing.

Thank you.  Looking at their location ain't they also in competition for fans and cars with Bedford, Selinsgrove and Clinton County?

Wouldn't most any fan half way between them and the above mentioned tracks not go there?

I don't know just askin?
