You're right man crate late models do rock I'm going to try to get to a few RUSH and Fastrak shows then shut off my racing for a while to save up for Nickelback tickets the tour starts in July but it's going to take some travel to catch a concert the closest they get to here is Connecticut so I have to consider the cost of travel too so I'm only going to get to one show on the summer tour then hope they come closer to home in 2020 so I can see them cheaper and still go to crate late model races without having to worry about spending too much money because I want to see both but the money is a factor not that the RUSH and Fastrak races are too expensive it's just that it's not the only thing in my entertainment budget so back to your point nobody will prove you wrong crate late models and Nickelback are both very popular I like the way you think.

Seriously, take a look at how much of the front page of this forum is comprised of 0 reply threads by rush and fasttrack. That's pretty much the definition of spam, and borderline on board bombing. But that's a microcosm of crate racing, It's spam, chaff you sit through between races. That wasn't a problem for me until rush destroyed the raciest division at Lernerville by turning it into just that spam. At least when a crate race was just added filler it might turn out to be a good race, and worth the time.

If all else is rained out within a 4 hour drive including kart racing, I'll pay to watch crate racing but won't drive more then a couple of hours to see it.

 

It takes just as much skill and knowledge to win a crate race as anything else, which makes low cost a bullshit thing.

I'll say this too, for all my criticism of crates, at least Brad comes on here and adds to the discussion. I've learned to respect him for that.

FanJim I dont know if we have a history on here or not because Ive had 7 concussions and I forget things easily. BUT if weve had a negative run in then it is forgotten because we jus became best friends. I agree 100%.

Ok, but you can say the same thing about the upper end slot car races too, and slot cars accelerate better, but they still can't leave their grove.

Here's another analogy...I like a steakhouse with a good bread, and that can tip the scales in favor of one over another, but take away the steak, and the bread won't bring me in. Crates on a good night are good bread in a steakhouse, but when rush came in and took the stake out of the sportsman/stock, (whatever it's called this season), class it became a whole lot easier to stay home, or find another track. The Thomson's don't understand that, and I don't think they ever will. They listen to their customers even less than Gary did, and I didn't think that was possible. The headline divisions have been one groove for years, so it was the sportsman that put on a race, now, not so much. That's why I criticize crates so much. They're fine as filler, but take away a racy division to make it crate and you're diminishing the racing.

Whats the difference, a crate motor was kicking there ass's when it was big motors...
