Virgile Scrap Metals was owned and operated by the late Ray Virgile. Ray was an ambassador of racing and supported so many drivers and race tracks in Northwestern Pennsylvania. R.K. Virgile Scrap Metals continues Ray’s legacy by extending support to racing events such as the Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals. The company buys scrap metals at reasonable rates. The 2nd Annual $10,000 to-win event for Penn Ohio Pro Stocks will take place at Sharon Speedway on Friday, June 14th & Saturday, June 15th. In addition to pro stocks, Economods will compete for a $2,000 to-win prize. Friday’s portion of the Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals will feature practice and qualifying for pro stocks and Economods. Saturday’s racing action will include heat races, B Mains, a B Feature for pro stocks, the main event for Economods, and a 75 green lap A Main for pro stocks.
The pre-registration deadline is May 1st. The discounted fee to pre-register is $150.00 for pro stocks ($50 savings) and $50.00 for Economods ($25 savings). Registration forms are attached and available on the Penn Ohio & Sharon Speedway websites - www.pennohioprostocks.com or www.sharonspeedway.com.
Anyone wanting to attend this must-see event should start making plans now. Camping at Sharon Speedway is free. Area lodging is available at a discounted rate at the “official hotel of Sharon Speedway”, Best Western Penn Ohio Inn & Suites in Hubbard, Ohio when you mention Sharon Speedway. General admission on Friday is free. General admission on Saturday is only $10 for those 14 and older. Kids 13 and under are free. Full concession will be available on Friday and Saturday. A bon fire and entertainment will be provided after racing is complete on Friday.
