“Ray’s Race” paying $2,011 at Michaels Mercer Raceway is the next event for Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series powered by Can-Am!

June 19, 2019 (Sandy Lake, PA) This Saturday, June 22nd, the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stocks powered by Can-Am will be back in action with a special event to honor Ray Virgile. The 2nd Annual “Ray’s Race” pays $2,011 to-win and will be hosted by Michaels Mercer Raceway as part of the “Little Guys’ Summer Spectacular” featuring top-notch stock car racing action.
R.K. Virgile Scrap Metals was owned and operated by the late Ray Virgile. Ray was an ambassador of racing and supported so many drivers and race tracks in Northwestern Pennsylvania. R.K. Virgile Scrap Metals, R & R Enterprises, and E & K Equipment continue Ray’s legacy by extending support to the Penn Ohio Series and racing events such as “Ray’s Race”. Additional sponsors of “Ray’s Race” include Eric A. Padin, Attorney at Law; Minich’s Towing & Recovery, Casey’s Restaurant & Lounge; Venango Towing and Recovery LLC; and Wayne H. Michaels Mercer Raceway is located at 555 Fairground Road, Mercer, PA. Heat race starting order will be determined by pill draw. “Ray’s Race” dash is sponsored by R & R Enterprises and will consist of R.K. Virgile sponsored cars/drivers with a $200 payout. The Main feature event will be a 25-lap race, paying $2,011 to-win, $150 to start.
The Penn Ohio Series will be charging a $35 registration fee for all drivers participating in the June 22nd event. All drivers will be eligible for a Hoosier tire donated by Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic/Precise Racing and an American Racer tire donated by Lias Tire. 2019 Homak Penn Ohio Series’ powered by Can-Am registered members will be eligible for additional contingency prizes donated by various sponsors including a wheel donated by SS Chassis & Supply, a case of racing oil donated by Les Frickshun, Trick Shot Penetrating Lubricant donated by STAAR Lubricants, racing product donated by Precise Racing and Dirt Defender LLC, gift certificates donated by Close Racing Supply, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics, ARbodies, Ultra Shield Race Products, Wedge Motorsports, Big Daddy’s Speed Center, and Precise Racing Products.
Pro stock drivers can join the Series and reap the benefits all season – a $15,000 point fund with $3,000 going to the point champion, over $13,000-$15,000 in contingency prizes given away at Penn Ohio events, and over $20,000 in driver prizes given away at the banquet.
