Look, I think the pill draw thing is stupid, but at least it’s something. Maybe you could pony up some of your money and be a part of the solution? Or is it easier to just complain about something that has little to no effect on you?

No, Negative Nancy. It's basically like normal, except there's a chance you're racing for extra money.  Or more specifically, put this sticker on your car, and if you finish in the top 10 tonight, there's a 50% chance they'll give you an extra $100.

Yes, if the lottery was 50/50 odds and didn't cost anything to play.  Then it would be just like that.

 

Try this example: Ralph Crisanks has a job.  He chose this job, understands the pay rate, and knows the amount of money he can earn based on his performance.  His boss pays him every Friday. There are 79 other people who have the same basic job as Ralph, but have chosen 1 of 4 types of work offered at this company.  No matter which type of work they have chosen, they are willingly working for and earning what they were told in advance that they would earn. At this particular place of business, (and at no other companies in the area that do the exact same business) every payday a lawyer walks in and announces that, through a random process, 20 of the top 40 performers that week will receive an extra $100 on top of the pay they earned. The lawyer gives the boss an extra $100 to the top 10 performers in 2 out of 4 types of work. Should Ralph not work for that company because there's a 50/50 chance the lawyer won't give him an extra $100 on top of his earnings?

If you're going to add some loot to the payout then just dole it out equally between all divisions. Guys are going to show up to race and like I said there is a good possibility one division will never a nickel.

I think they should have taken that money and put it towards a free pit pass for every driver on a fab 4 night.

That way everybody wins.

Close but you left out a few key elements. The workers buy their own supplies, the cost of which have multiplied, and the wages haven't gone up a single penny in this century. Fewer employees every week are willing or able to continue to work there. So now, rather than compensate those bringing in the value to the company from their own profits the owners of the company have brought in a guy who makes a huge amount of money taking a percentage of peoples' injury settlements.

Pretty sure I saw that if a Fab 4 night is rained out that the $2,000 for that week is split and goes into the point fund for each division.  So unless there are zero nights that are rained out every division will see some of the $$.

I was talking about the drivers, using the worker/wage analogy that was presented earlier. I'm pretty sure Don Martin was the last promoter to raise the purse at Lernerville and he died in the early 90's, so the payout has not gone up this century, (wages in the analogy), the cost of equipment has multiplied and the proverbial company has restricted what equipment the "employees" can use, further exacerbating the expense to payout gap. Instead of paying the "employees" more, Lernerville has made yet another deal with another devil for a bonus lottery. 

 

I'm not saying that sponsorship is a problem, and this ambulance chaser has as much right to buy space as anyone else. I don't like the lottery/bonus aspect of it. How often at Lernerville does a King start on the pole? Random chance doesn't pull the number 1 pill every single time.
