Night two of the Steel City Stampede will feature  13 A-Mains, and 5 B-Mains, two for the Rush Late Models, one for the Super Late Models and two for the 4 Cylinders.  The 410 Sprints will be running a 25-lap A-Main for $3K to win, $1K for second, and $200 to start; the Super Late Models will be running a 25-lap A-Main for $3k to win, $1K for second, and $200 to start; the Big Block Modifieds will be running a 25-lap A-Main for $3K to win, $1K for second, and $200 to start; the Rush Late Models will be running a 25-lap A-Main for $2K to win,  $1K for second, and $225 to start;  the E-Mods will be running a 20-lap A-Main for $1500 to win, $800 for second, and $125 to start; the Pro Stocks will be running a 25-lap A-Main for $1K to win, $500 for second, and 100 to start; the Rush Modifieds will be running a 20-lap A-Main for $800 to win, $500 for second, and $125 to start; the Rush Sprints will be running a 20-lap A-Main for $800 to win, $400 for second, and $160 to start; the 305 Sprints will be running a 20-lap A-main for $800 to win, $500 for second, and $150 to start; the Elite E-Mods will be running a 20-lap A-Main for $500 to win, $300 for second, and $100 to start; the 4 Cylinders will be running a 15-lap A-Main for $500 to win, $350 for second, and $75 to start; the Super 6 Late Models will be running a 15-lap A-Main for $700 to win, $400 for second, and $150 to start; the 270cc Micro Sprints will be running  15-lap A-Main for $250 to win, $175 for second, and $45 to start; the 100 Enduro will pay $1K to the winner, the Rush Late Model Non-Qualifer race will pay $200 to win and $150 to start.  Results as follows:

Pretty sure the prices were set before he even became the manager. I also think that DIRTcar set the admission prices.

I dont think its a big deal to enter with a mask when they dont enforce it after you enter the gate.

New record high car count for the Stampede says otherwise.

 

The new GM's first order of business should be getting back to starting on time.  It costs no money, and I've never heard of anyone being bothered by starting on time.  If they find it necessary for opening ceremonies to be a drawn out event, in front of the grandstands like they are, start them earlier.  There's something to be said for racing at 7:30 when you say you will.  It might be easier to stomach the intermission if they can at least start as advertised.



If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.

I can't believe you didn't throw a "Don Martin is rolling in his grave" in there somewhere. Gary Risch was going to run the track out of business, the Tomsons were going to run the track out of business, and now this guy is going to run the track out of business.  Great narrative, except the 2020 season was very successful, the Commonwealth Clash had one of the biggest crowds they've ever had for an Outlaw show, the car counts were up in all divisions this year, they added a livestreaming platform that had to bring in a lot of new money and the Stampede car count was over 300 for the fourth or fifth straight year and I think they even said a new record high.  Hell the crowd for that last school bus race looked like fireworks night and there's not much of a purse to pay that night, so for as much as some of your trolls want it to fail, Don Martin's track continues to flourish.

It's a dirtcar co sanctioned event with the track. Dirtcar sets prices. Been the same for past few years now.

The new GM just took office 2 weeks ago and you think he actually changed anything yet. Nothing will be changed until next year.

As far as I know, the Tomson's still own it. New GM is Mike Lysakowski. He has been up Jennerstown for the past few years but he has a long resume in racing.

The pit fees, entry fees etc have been the same since 2018 and maybe even before.

In the information age, people can't claim ignorance when it comes to pricing. Point being, you know going in what it costs so if you go and pay it then why bitch about it afterward? If it's an event that someone either wants to see, help a team out or sit in the stands then what you pay is worth it. Last year was my last Stampede. I don't think it's worth it at any price, so I didn't go. I'm not going to sit here and berate those that do go. None of my business.

I like the stampede. It has inherent problems, but that's damned if you do, damned if you don't. 



My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

I am sure mike Lysakowski had nothing to do with the prices!!!  He will be running things next year, but the Tompson family still owns the track and will set the prices!!   They now have a "manager" who has been around racing for many, many years and that is a big plus for Lernerville. Have known Mike for year and he will do fine!!

Mike had nothing to do with anything being done with the stampede. This information about prices and events was already set before he was even hired. He was simply following guidelines that were set before him. Give the guy a break.

I would love to see them split up the events and try having full shows for classes on a given night. Say Super Lates, Pro Stocks, UMP mods, 305s and 4 cylinders on Friday and then Sprints, Mods, Rush classes and maybe econo mods on Saturday with the enduro.

That wont-work because they would only be paying one day pit pass .. Right now they have to pay a 2 day pit pass so they would actually be losing money.

Maybe, maybe not.  It's an interesting idea. They'd lose some money on the back gate with a one or two day pit pass price as opposed to a two or three day pit pass, but it might help the front gate, especially on Friday.  Not much of a crowd for a night full of heat races.

That wont-work because they would only be paying one day pit pass .. Right now they have to pay a 2 day pit pass so they would actually be losing money.

I also thought you might make up some with more guys namely in the top classes with guys willing to run if they just have to commit to one day. This is what they do at the Kokomo Klash.
