There 21 schedule is up and pretty impressive. About four 3000 to win Super Late model shows. Three Big Block Mod races two of which are BRP. Also, they are having a FallFest 2nd weekend in October with 410 Sprints.
Latrobe will draw more 410's by default. PPMS will be lucky to get 10 cars and Bowser will win by 3/4's of a lap. Much better overall program at Latrobe. Would be a good end of season show to go to instead of the Stampede which has turned to trash.

And a nod to Dennis on a good looking schedule and love that the October 2 day show is full programs each night.

They had track prep figured out before the half way point of the season last year.... supers where bad a$$ fast up there.

Well, I went when the Penn-Ohio Stock race was there and the track was less than ideal. Went back for the Big Block Modified special and the track was excellent.

Dan bauman got them going Now it is up to them to keep it in the right direction. Hope to make it up there for a race this year.

They are trying real hard there. I think this will be the third year and they continually improve the quality of their schedule. It's a fun track to attend. I'm really hoping they can carve out a solid spot for themselves on Saturdays.

Latrobe dropped Fastrak Crate Late Model Series and has decided to run unsanctioned crates. I do wonder if they never heard about the free for all that went on at Dog Hollow and Marion Center back in the day and how the car counts dropped off shortly after???

They can replace them with 358's . Better show anyway!
Should actually drop the unlimited steel block lates and the crate lates.
I've seen a lot better shows with the 358 lates and I'll bet they are spending less than the top crate late teams.

More tracks should drop the crate sanctioning bodies and go with 358 motors.
As a crate late model owner/driver I'd like to see crate motors become boat anchors .....I've read the motor rules for tracks like Thunder mountain/Hidden valley/Hummingbird ....they all have the same semi-late motor rules and they're something I can build/maintain and generally work on in my shop ......crate sealer/engine shops don't like that for sure .....the semi rules need a little tweeting in 515 lift cam rule (flat tappet cams all cost the same ) other than that I'm waiting for more guys to wake up on just how bad a crate motor is ..... (can't do anything to them in your shop except adjust the valves)most of them can't see the trees through the forest cause they don't know anything else ..... It's something that they're not interested in taking the time to learn and it's a shame for racing in general ........

The best thing about the Hummingbird/ThunderMtn/Hidden Valley semi lates is the shock and spring rule, keeps the cost down a bit

They have the RUSH sprints booked, so I figured they wouldn't happen if they were still Fastrack. Also, Roaring Knob now going back to Saturday with Fastrack might have something to do with that choice. Be interesting to see someone try a Limited Late rule package like the old UFo tried to do, with crates and 358s both legal with some rules tweaked to let them run together.

358 would be the way to go but, There tech guy at Latrobe is not smart enough to police the class. Prime example he could not even catch the traction control in the Late Models, or the Stroked Crate Engines that were running at Motordrome before it shut down.

3 link most guys today probably don't have a clue as to rebuilding there bottom ends. I agree 100% if more tracks would only talk to each other on a common rules package the racer would benefit. That's the problem, they all want what's best for me.
Especially in Westmoreland County
