Weekend Roundup – Six sanctioning tracks hosted Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stocks over the weekend:  Two drivers get a 2nd win on the books for the 2021 season, while four drivers visit victory lane for the first time in 2021!

 

May 26, 2021 (Sandy Lake, PA) Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series powered by Can-Am drivers had a chance to accumulate points at six of the nine sanctioning tracks.  Finding their way to victory lane over the past weekend were first-time POPS winners in the 2021 season: Four-time Penn Ohio Points Champion and Series member, Chris Schneider #55 at PPMS; POPS Series member, Dylan Cecce #18 at Hidden Valley; POPS Series member, Jamie Colwell #54J at Hummingbird; Non-Series member, Cam Kraisinger #47 at Latrobe; as well as, repeat 2021 season winners: POPS Series member, Daryl Chalier #114 at Lernerville; and, Non-Series member John Boardman at the New Stateline.

 

Continuing to lead the way in the Homak Penn Ohio Series powered by Can-Am points is Josh Seippel in his #84s Slider Race Car with 736 points over 8 races.  Making up 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are drivers who have 7 races: Brett McDonald with 640 points, Duke Davidson with 610 points, and Josh Blum with 596 points.  Curtis J. Bish sits in 5th with 558 points after 6 races; and, Chase Lambert is in 7th with 6 races and 536 points.  Drivers with 5 races make up 7th through 9th place as follows: Curt Bish Jr., 457 points; Brett Hutira, 455 points; and Mike Bordt, 443 points.  To date, 71 out of 81 Series members have raced at least one time at a POPS sanctioning track.

 

Drivers can still join the Series and race at the sanctioning tracks in hopes of capturing the title, “2021 Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series powered by Can-Am Points Champion”.  Points are updated and can be viewed on the Points portion of the website:  http://www.pennohioprostocks.com/Points.htm.

Latrobe Speedway has no racing due to the Latrobe Air Show.

 

The two highest paying pro stock events are scheduled the first, two weekends in June.  The 1st PSX event of 2021 will be the 10th Annual Ed Laboon Memorial paying $5,017 to-win, $300 to start on June 5th at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.  The only Penn Ohio Series’ points awarded to Series’ members on Saturday, June 5th will be to those participating in the PSX Laboon Memorial race at PMS (regular points plus an additional 25 bonus points.)  The very next weekend will be the 3rd Annual Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals at Sharon Speedway kicking off with practice, qualifying and “King of the Hill” on Friday, June 11th with heats, last chance qualifiers, and features on Saturday, June 12th.  The only Penn Ohio Series’ points awarded to Series’ members on Friday, June 11th or Saturday, June 12th will be to those participating in the SVPSN race at Sharon Speedway (regular points plus an additional 35 bonus points.)
