Admittedly, it isn't Zambelli quality. They haven't used them for years, too expensive. But, Cochran picks up the tab, so there is no increase at the front gate. I don't go for the fireworks, so I have no dog in the fight. My only complaint about Lernerville's shows the last couple of seasons is that they don't move the show with any sense of urgency, especially when there is a chance of weather interfering. No reason the first heat shouldn't be on the track at 7:30. And they always find a reason to screw around for fifteen minutes to a half hour after the heats. People will ask why the complaints? Because whether or not you think it's fair, Lernerville should be held to a higher standard. No reason that show shouldn't be wrapped up by 10:30 to 11:00 barring a serious accident or power failure. Believe me, they'll sell plenty of beer and fish sandwiches without adding an extra half hour to forty-five minutes to the show.

Up the purses, clean up the bathrooms and bring back the original fish sammiches. The ones that never fit the bun. Way over priced anymore. And make a cushion and leave it alone throughout the night.

Hell, the announcer didn't even know the correct class that was next or how many laps the race was.

If they hired you back to fix all the problems would you accept or are there still hard feelings it sounds like you wish it was still a top track is it just disappointing or do you wish you could come back to do something about it?

See I disagree about the cushion. The best racing all year there was 0 cushion. The bottom and the top were equal, and we had 3 and 4 wide racing with real chances to pass again. Last Friday the cushion was 18 inches in the middle of 4 and sucking the best drivers into the marbles. Personally I liked when there were top, bottom and middle grooves. 

 

Too much cushion and it's one groove, follow the leader, and we may as well be watching traffic or an active train track.

I knew the running order, I misspoke in the midst of a 16-hour workday, sue me! I work 60 hours a week and coach three baseball teams, but go ahead and call me out behind a screen name.  If you came more often, maybe you'd notice all of the new bleacher boards, new concrete wall on the front stretch, expanded and leveled out pit area, TVs in all the concession stands to watch LernervilleTV while you're in line, etc.   If you ever want to chat in person, I'm pretty easy to find.

You could certainly make some improvements in the personnel that are employed there and perhaps some policy changes that benefit the racer. Didn't know the mall car show tickets couldn't be used for a discount at the pit gate this year. Thanks for not telling us ahead of time but for using my car to put on your show, real class act. It would also be nice to have a few tech guys who actually have a copy of the rules book handy with them and actually take the hood off the car to tech it.

The track and the racing sucked last night, period. Worst show of the year, by far. Might be okay for the Supers, (which was a caution feast), but it sucks for the open wheel classes. To each their own, I suppose. Not the kind of racing I like to watch which is another reason I avoid the Firecracker.

It was pretty bad, but it wasn't exactly conducive weather either.

Last night the cushion was more consistent. Neither night provided good racing, but the weather was problematic. We got see which drivers had the throttle control to skate around a race track, so there's that. 

 

Mike and the Thomsons could have just pulled the cancel trigger, but they didn't. We all could have stayed home, but we didn't. And some drivers walked away with more in their pockets than when they came in.

 Oh, I agree. I'd much rather they made an attempt to race. If It that meant they had to seal the track, so be it.

Absolutely, his car control is much improved. Once he can consistently run laps and gain the other drivers respect, then he can concentrate on making the car faster.

Criticism of any variety is not accepted well by ownership, management and personnel at this facility so speaking your mind is a moot point. If someone does express their displeasures in any manner theyll be black balled as I was. The days of being disagreeable and having a voice as a spectator, driver, car owner, etc. are over at that track but its completely acceptable for the track personnel, management and employees to act however they damn well please towards anyone even if its in an unprofessional manner.

I'm hoping the new GM is more receptive to the customers and drivers. He seems to be. That said, I can understand your skepticism, and you know I think you got a raw deal.
