In general my understanding about how Winged Sprints are generally setup or used except when ringing it around the top via fronts and mainly outside tires is it's put the left rear down and then your goal is to be able to push the right rear into and released from the track as needed.

Quickly it's put the left rear down and then it's down and up with the right rear as needed.

My question is why with a Winged Spring would the left rear NOT be locked down.

And what specific place or places around the track when not ringing it around the top, would it benefit you to NOT have the left rear locked down?

I've been told often by many top quality Winged Sprint crew chiefs and owner operators, "those who are fast do not have the left rear locked down".

I would think and hope my questions gather some conversation or at least lead to thoughts and new questions from others.

Do this to do that is easy.

The why of anything and everything is a bit more difficult.

yep just an old fart getting enjoyment out of, thinking about and asking about how this darn dirt oval stuff were all addicted to works.
