As the thread title says it was another Great night of racing at Lernerville.
----------------------------------------------
I had fun watching and don't really care how the tech was resolved.
The whole thing will not keep me from happily paying my money to see another Show at Lernerville.
In fact it added to the fun and excitement there at Lernerville.

Who has more control the director(Race Stewart) or the producer(Track Owner)?

A producer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a project including financing, casting, location scouting and more. A director has creative control over everything that goes into making a movie; they are in charge of capturing the vision of the script.

The executive producer(Track Owner) is like the CEO of the project. They hire the key leaders and talent – including directors, stars(Racers) and producers(Track Manager) – and supervises them.
Stewards are like referees for horse racing. They are responsible for making sure that all rules are properly followed, and for taking action when those rules are violated.

Never forget it's a Show put on to attract a paying audience, the same as Football, Baseball, the Movies etc. and Broadway.

The track owner can do what ever they please and if the "Track Steward" doesn't like it and doesn't courteously go along with the Track Owner, the Track Steward should move on to other employment and/or the Track Owner should fire the Track Steward..

What happened added to the drama and excitement of a great "Show" Friday, with dual fireworks and extra drama offered to spectators..

It's also up to the private contractor racers to decide if they still want to work at Lernerville.
We will see it the second place car chooses to return or moves on to other employment opportunities.

I bet you would feel differently if you got screwed out of first place money. If they can't follow the rules then why have any at all. BTW , we're racing not making movies.

Wow !!  Thats a little extreme.  The ever famous "Big E" is the one who runs the FB page.  I've been banned from liking or commenting on their posts for years thanks to him.  He thinks he owns the place. Poor representation

I'm real easy to find, and even easier to talk to, if you want to stop hiding behind a screen name on a message board.  And I dare you to find anyone other than Don Gamble that not only represents the history of Lernerville Speedway, but also the entire Western PA racing community than me.  Hell I'll even buy you a fish sandwich and a Marburger Iced Tea if you'd like to have an adult conversation before or after the races.

Is the tech issue something that can elaborate on here, because I'm curious. I'm not complaining, but I am curious. As for that adult conversation, It's the Jim that sometimes works with Lernverville TV, so you know I mean this with all respect. If you can't elaborate on here, I'll ask you about it face to face next time I see you, and you're not busy.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

What do you guys want them to say ? They saw it, smokey was right there in the middle of it. Everybody understands what happened. One of the Tomson's picked up a headset or phone and said I'm making the call. Was it right, O hell no, the guy that I feel bad for is smokey. PR you mention Gamble and yourself as being devoted, I don't question that. But making that call wasn't fair to a track steward as loyal as smokey. Period. That man has been at pit boards for how many years ? Bush league call by whomever is at fault.

Ok...   How about explain the Lernerville Speedway's OFFICIAL explanation of what happened regarding the Garvin SLM win, and droop tech issue???   AND, almost MORE importantly, what's going to happen going forward??  Thanks...

Funny thing, no mention of it whatsoever on their Facebook page. Nothing but 5 star reviews from everyone commenting. Oh I forgot they delete anything negative someone may post.

Why is there not any answer ? Do you not think that the fans that are paying out their hard earned money {in todays downward economy} have a right to know?

I'll pass on that.  I have, and will continue to, direct my concerns, opinions, and suggestions to Mike.   I appreciate the offer tho. BTW.  The fish went downhill in the last couple years, and is now too pricey for whatcha do get. It used to be the best thing on the menu

And we are all still waiting on an explanation of what went on in tech after the race.  And if the car in fact DID fail the droop rule, why was the win still awarded to the 4 car, and not the 1c ?  That should be public information to all of us that pay to watch fair and equal racing.

Im just here to say I agree with the fish sandwich comment. That was my go to many years at LV. The last couple years its been terrible. Eric, if youre going to fix anything get a new fish sandwich vendor 😄

I agree with you. We always starved on our way to the track because we craved the fish sandwiches because they were so divine . The last several trips there they tasted as if they really didn't have much taste to them. The guy in front of us said that it tasted like Carp ! I told that I wouldn't know because I've never had Carp before.

You can't remove or delete or affect reviews on Facebook, but nice try! If you're interested in learning more click here: How is a rating on a Page determined on Facebook? | Facebook Help Center

Yes, we do delete negative posts.  Our Facebook page is to promote the track and drivers in a positive light.  It's not a message board and fan page, it's a business page, so bashing, defamatory, and negative posts are removed.  Repeat and extremely vulgar offenders are banned.  I've always been very transparent and unapologetic with that.

At the end of the day, all I know is he cleared the scales/post-race inspection and came to victory lane for the interview.  I didn't go back there when it was going on, nor was I involved in any post-race discussions.  I went back and forth from press box to victory lane, and then right to the podcast studio.  I can tell you that the Tomsons do not get involved in the process, they let the staff do their jobs and support their decisions.  If there is any further discussion or rules clarifications that follow, I would assume it would be addressed at the driver's meeting tomorrow night.

I figured as much, but respect your decision.

I still think the fish is perfectly fine, I do think it depends greatly on who makes it and when.  Even an extra 30 seconds in the fryer makes a big difference, fresh grease at the beginning of the night or grease that's been used for a few hours, it all factors in.  I've never thought it was the best thing on the menu, but it's a tradition and a fine one at that for me.  I still miss the Action Track Snack, the greasy, cheesy goodness will never be forgotten, but the vendor doesn't make them anymore.  The cost of everything has increased, food, utilities, fuel costs, etc., but the price of admission remains at $15 and pit pass at $30, plus the purse was increased across the board.  Concessions are a convenience and optional.  You can still bring in your own food and water/soft drinks, but the cost of that at Walmart, Giant Eagle, Sprankles, Sheetz, Vocelli's, wherever you shop has gone up too.

The public information is, ultimately, Johnny won the race, period.

All that said, I'm going to bed y'all.  We do truly appreciate your passion and love for the sport.  It's frustrating and confusing sometimes, but your passion and feedback is important. Even if the negativity is deleted or goes without response, it is read, considered and appreciated.  If anyone wants to let me put a face to your screen name and chat before or after the races, I'm easy to find!

Eric, I do appreciate the response. Social media in today's world can harm a business beyond repair. My view is a simple one, when I come up and go to the track for the most part I have an enjoyable experience. Lernerville still gives the paying customers the most bang for the buck. Again, your response to the individual questions is something you will not receive from any track I know of. As the PR guy you must deal with folks that have there mind made up no matter what you tell them. Keep up the good work.

"I still think the fish is perfectly fine, "

Would you eat it if it wasn't I assume a benefit of working there?

I too use to buy it every Friday and don't anymore not because of price but because of it's yuck factor.

Only thing I still buy there are the mushrooms.

$5 a can for beer has sobered me up too.

Do you still have a senior discount for regular night racing?

I don't know about other seniors but when I get a senior discount getting in I usually double that and more at the concessions.

LOL, for what ever personal cheap reason if I have to pay full price that's usually all I spend at a track.

Yep dumb but a little discount puts me to spending way beyond my or your expectations.  ... :)

Edit:  Get the fish offered, scrape the breading off of it and what do you have?

answer:  not much of anything.

Edit again:   Sure wish the Friday Fish snack was same as it use to be so I could enjoy it again.

LOL, are you old enough to remember back when it was good?  ... :)

just wondering if you have any real insight into this conversation about the fish snack or if your just giving us paid positive feedback on it because you think it's your job?

PR and having the ability to do something to fix a problem are two different things.

I suspect were getting the same paid positive response to our questions and suggestions on both subjects.

... your doing a good PR job

I would not have a problem introducing myself to you.  I did the same for Mr Miley when he offered a beer to anyone who would do it.  He was ok to talk to but didn't hang around long.

I like to talk with most of it just BS, how early do I need to get there or how late are you willing to stay listing to my BS and bull about what I think?  ... :)

The fish sammich has doubled in price and is half the size it used to be when growing up there. Crazy.  $4 boiled hot dog is even more crazier. I dont have many gripes for Lernerville except concession prices and the bathrooms.

I usually spend about $30 at Sharon.

Since shocked by beer, I think gate now without a senior discount and concession prices, except for occasional Mushrooms I usually don't spend over the gate fee at Lernerville making sure I buy hotdogs on the way.

Can't wait to try taking brisket BBQ from down by Precise to Lernerville to eat.

It's not a matter of price or if I can afford it, I guess it's sticker shock and old fart learned habits.

butt... then again your PR and your job is to be positive and can't really do anything about it.

... we understand and it's not a problem and thanks for listening

If a sit down dine in restaurant can offer a decent piece of fish with macaroni and a side for around $13, why can't you all as an incentive offer a decent slab of fish and fries for $10?

Ain't nobody askin for cole slaw or a drink to go with it, just asking for some good fish

... heck make it $15 for a nice piece of fish and mushrooms and I'd pay that too !
