I think Googer25 said the right thing......it all depends on which way WMP wants to go. I know that they don't want to get into a tech game because they don't have the manpower nor the equipment to do that. Even though there hasn't been anyone complaining like racer50 suggests.........there are some engines out there that have went further than intended and you can't argue that fact!!! I'll be honest with you.....my engine currently has a 430 lift cam in it and I'm using a 4412 carburator with a 571 rear gear....now you can't get any more honest than that........and I'm getting flat out yanked on the straight aways anfd it's NOT because of handling.....period!!! I don't have the bigger valves or a milled head or a milled block or flat top pistons (dished pistons for me) and still can't keep up. Granted I'm running 4th in points right now....but that's simply based on being consistantly in the top 10. So what's the answer? I think you need to do one of two things...... 1. Let people run any engine in any chassis like Goober25 suggested. Reason being......you can get Ford 2.3 performance parts a dime a dozen on the net because that's the engine they run in any mini-stock class. I also think they should let us run 9" rear ends for safety and for better gear ratio selection. 2. If we have to stick with the engine to chassis matching rule then institute an entire truck claim rule rather than just an engine. For example........for $1,000 you can claim the winner and he hands over his truck and you give him yours. Otherwise if you stick to engine claims then it just don;t work with the different manufacturers out there. I promise you that the class will get out of hand just like the stocks at Lima are right now unless something is done right away. The class still puts on a good show but I also think that there are some trucks out there that only use the power that they have only when they need to. I've seen certain trucks simply "just do what they need to do" unitl someone pulled beside of them and then they drop the hammer =) There is nothing being said bad about any individuals here.......it's just how we govern our class to make it more side by side action ALL THE WAY through the field. I want people like Sam Kasey (because Goober25 mentioned his name) to have a chance to win also with that 200,000 mile motor.

And as far as stiring the pot (NO JUST STATING THE FACTS) Stocker I bought a truck this week and want to bring it over and start the work on it. Maybe I can get that BTI 8c dude to drive it next year a few times. Give me a call or I will stop by next week.

Hay this is Brad but I 'm on Tim's user name. The real question should be not about the teck but will any one have a track to run at next year? Andy has all ready signed another track to run next year and will Cub be able to do it on his own? And also Eldora is talking about crate motors for the stocks. What about the little guy that is out there know's he dosent have a chance to win but is having a ball driving a car now your gona tell him he must buy a crate motor at the cost of several big dollars or don't come back. I think they need to take a better look at this one it wont even the field the guys up front will work on setups and alot better shocks to get the upper edge again. There no end to the cycle last week Eldora had 40 cars wheres the problem at ? 40 cars Lima and Waynesfield would love to get that many cars in one night. So what happened to the statement if it's not broke don't fix it. If they wan't to get rid of the class gust grow a set and tell everone that the class is no longer wanted at your track. Wake up Larry and smell the morring air ( I thik he fell and bumped his little head)

Best thing them trucks could do is to add horsepower to them. sorry all and beleive me, i respect and know first hand the amt of time involved in building stock racing vehicles to full tubed racing vehicles. none are cheap or anyless or anymore then the other, cause they all fit a certain budget! HP in them would create a faster more exciting and passing freindly class though. at this point majority are same speed and only way a pass is done is by someone slipping up. give them motor to slide job, run top, run bottom. you cant make the motors too extreme in rules but give them a god bit of soemthing. in the end they will all have it anyways.

Now Brad, best thing you can do is start reading up on the crate LM class and pick up a few old dirt late model digest mags that had crate articles. then take it all to kemp and show him where everyone will spend that extra money. lighter lower frictions trans, low drag rears, alum. this mag that. it will all be about lightening the rotating mass so that the 400HP motor gets as close to 400hp at rear wheels as possible. Then you will have higher cost racing. right now a good motor costs a bunch but only so much hooks and a driver and good setup can make huge differences. The division will fall apart fast. truthfully though the stock div. is about due to get a street stock title and get some hoosiers and 4 barrels. evolution has waited long enough. then get them UMP santioned so you all have a little somethign extra to race for.
