Personally, I don't think any track should run more than four classes. Many tracks have too many!! I have said this many times in recent years!!

I thought this might happen and mentioned this in this week's column in AARN. However, I really didn't think the WRG would go this far and do such!! They are somewhat cutting off their nose to spite their face!! However, there is nothing on the WoO schedule for Tuesday July 19, which should be the Silver Cup, just a July 20 date at Port Royal. And come September, the WoO could race at both Lernerville and Sharon. Could be negotiations may still going on and it may all work out. If not, there is a guy by the name of Tony Stewart waiting in the wings!!!

AREA AUTO RACING NEWS has been publishing since 1963 and still does with results from all over the Northeast and all the National series as well. They have weekly results from Lernerville, Mercer, Sharon, Pittsburgh and Tri-City every week!!! Plus results from other area tracks. If you have been around 30 years I don't know you missed this!!!! Paper is on sale at Lernerville every week!! RPM Racing News sold out to AARN 10+ years ago!!!

Tri-City is sending out results out to the media every week!!! I have gotten mine every week and results are in AARN!! Don't know if they are on the website or not as I have had no reason to check such. Ditto with Facebook.

Yes, Joe Kelly was an assumed name for racing. I have a photo of him in a Modified Studebaker at Daytona about 1962-63.

Amazing!!!!! I has to be for sure that he wasn't hurt nearly as bad as what we all feared for at least hours. I was going to work on a coming column Monday night after he race and just didn't feel like doing it. The prayers of the entire racing world have been answered!!

It seems many of you are against the race tracks and promoters making any money!! Sure some of the season ending shows can be considered a "money grab", and most tracks in our area now have an event of some sort like that at the end of the season. However, if tracks don't make money they will close down and then the race teams will have no place to race and the fans will have no place to go watch races!!!
