Special Thanks to Two Fire/EMS at Lernerville Tonight

26 October 2013 - 12:07 AM

Just wanted to offer a special thanks to the two Fire/EMS guys who manned the front stretch safety platform tonight at Lernerville. These two individuals chose to stand and pace around on the platform the entire evening while conversing on and playing with their cell phones. The end result was that some of us fans in the seats in the next section had our view of the end of the front stretch and most of turn one blocked from view the entire evening especially when they chose to stand side by side. I have viewed the racing action from this section of seating for several years, and with the exception of a few occasions have never had to have my view of the track blocked by workers standing for extended periods of time on the platform while doing their duties. Seating is provided for these workers and is normally used by them which appears to give them adequate visibility of the entire track. While seated, they are not blocking viewing of the track. I am 110% appreciative of the all the fire and EMS crews who help out at the track and for their dedicated efforts to be trained and the sacrifice of time they give and realize that race days would not happen without them, however, it would be appreciated if when they are on duty on that platform that they would be courteous to the fans who have paid good money to see racing on the entire track, not just 4/5th's of it and remain seated while racing is in progress. Hate to bring this up, but tomorrow is another night of racing with more cars on the track at a time and much more racing action is expected, and since it is all we will get to see until next spring, I don't want to miss any of it including what goes on in turn one.
