Sarver, PA (May 31, 2019) For the first time in 2019, chamber of commerce weather surrounded The Action Track on Friday night.  And a lightning quick racing surface produced some hammer down racing throughout the night as another Fab4 Friday night Revved up with Marburger unfolded before the crowd on hand.  It was a night that saw another four drivers making their first appearance of 2019 in Terry Bowser Excavating Victory Lane which included a win from a driver that saw a long personal drought come to an end.

In Peoples Gas Sprint Car main event action, Jack Sodeman Jr. started outside of pole sitter Jeremy Hill and quickly assumed the lead. Meanwhile, AJ Flick moved forward quickly from his 10th starting spot and began applying pressure to the leader in the second half of the 25 lap race. Sodeman maneuvered through lapped traffic with precision and purpose though, and hit his marks consistently en route to his first win of the 2019 campaign.

Michael Norris looked primed to possibly lap the field at one point early in the Precise Racing Products Late Model main event by amassing a full straightaway advantage over second running Ken Schaltenbrand.  However, the race took an unexpected turn when Norris gradually developed a tire going down after the 15 lap mark, causing him to enable Schaltenbrand and Kelvin Kohan to become unexpected players for the win. Schaltenbrand Norris lost the tire for good late in the race, setting up a green, white, checker finish that saw Kohan and Schaltenbrand duel for the main event win in which Schaltenbrand used a good restart to push past Kohan on his way to victory lane for the first time since 2010.

Steve Feder and Will Thomas brought the field of Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds to the green flag, and Thomas made the most of his starting spot. He quickly assumed command of the field while Jeremiah Shingledecker patiently waited for his moment to make his move. Shingledecker managed to draw up to the bumper of Thomas in lapped traffic around the midpoint of the main event, and made his way around him at the lap 17 mark after contact in turn four.  From then on, the race belonged to Shingledecker who was able to keep the formidable duo of Rex King Sr. and Rex King Jr. behind him over the final five laps. Points leader Brian Swartzlander fell out of contention when he suffered a late blown tire with three laps to go.

Tyler Dietz had normally kept his office at The Action Track on the bottom groove over the course of his Millerstown Pic A Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stock career, and had been finding tremendous success doing so.  However, on Friday night, Dietz was more than comfortable on the top side of the speedway and was the fastest car on the track.  After passing Lernerville Hall of Famer Joe Kelley for the lead early on, Dietz took control of the field and looked to be cruising to his first feature win of the season. However, points leader Joey Zambotti was able to make it a thrilling battle to the finish as he found a way to pull nearly door to door with the leader in the second half of the 20 lap main event, but came up short on his attempts to pass Dietz for the lead.

The Action Track Podcast was recorded live following the night of racing and contains victory lane interviews with all of Friday’s feature winners as well as race recaps and analysis and special guest Tyler Dietz who spoke about his new Late Model program for 2019. Sarver, PA (May 24, 2019) The sun made an appearance at The Action Track on Friday night and so did the Fab4 Revved up with Marburger as the third points night unfolded in front of a sizable crowd. It was a night that saw intense battles to the checkered flag,  an emotional victory celebration, and an unexpected appearance from a driver very familiar with victory lane!

Garrett Krummert came into the weekend with a two race winning streak in regional action at Michael's Mercer Raceway Park and managed to keep rolling for a third in Diehl Automotive Big Block Modified action. Krummert overcame early race leader Steve Feder and then kept the field behind him including a strong running Brian Swartzlander who applied pressure throughout the second half of the race.  Krummert changed lines on a lap 23 restart and was able to hold off one final charge from the seven time track champion en route to his first victory of the 2019 season at Lernerville.

In the Peoples Gas Sprints, AJ Flick and Gary Kriess brought the field to the green flag and Flick simply never looked back. The three time champion manuevered well in lapped traffic and was solid on restarts including one in the waning laps with a hard charging Carl Bowser behind him. Flick hit his marks down the stretch and was the class of the field as he made his way to Terry Bowser Victory Lane fir the first time this season.

A weekend off for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series enabled two time Firecracker Champion Shane Clanton to pay a visit on Friday night and he put on a clinic in the Precise Racing DIRTcar Late Models. After taking the lead from Colton Flinner on an early restart, Clanton simply drove away from the field while Flinner tended to a cut tire. The battle for the runner up spot was a sight to see as Kenny Schaltenbrand and Jared Miley engaged in an intense battle for the spot in the second half of the main event. Schaltenbrand would hang on and keep Miley at bay to wind up second on the podium as Clanton cruised to victory lane at the end of 25 laps.

In Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stock action, Ryan Moyer found a way around early race leader Tyler Dietz and never looked back en route to his first feature victory of the season. Corey McPherson took the final podium position while Joey Zambotti managed to make his way forward from his 10th starting spot to fourth to keep on top of the point standings after three race nights. Moyer then performed a Polish victory lap as a tribute to former Sprint Car and Enduro driver Glenn Noland who recently passed away.  Drivers came through the stands with their helmets to collect funds for Glenn's family which totaled over $4100.

Sarver, PA (May 18, 2019) Fans were treated to racy surface and night of racing beneath dry skies for the second week in a row on Friday night. They were also treated to some great performances in main event action that saw some familiar faces wind up in victory lane.

Michael Norris was tested by a hard charging Colton Flinner and pressed at times by a strong performance from Tommy Beck who led early on, en route to his first appearance in victory lane at The Action Track. The defending champion took the lead on a lap three pass in turn four and gave it up to Flinner with 11 laps left, but made his way back around and cruised to the win in the Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Model main event.

Meanwhile, Rex King Jr. put the field behind him with authority from the pole in Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Big Block Modified action but would be challenged by an oncoming Dave Murdick in the second half of the race. Murdick looked to be on the verge of making a pass for the lead on several occasions and had good looks on the bottom of the speedway. However, King Jr. was too strong on the top side to be overtaken and pegged a lap 23 restart that saw Brian Swartzlander overtake Murdick for the runner up spot.

In Peoples Gas DIRTcar Sprint action, Sye Lynch took early command from the pole and fought off challenges from AJ Flick and Jack Sodeman Jr to earn his second career victory at The Action Track. Flick and Brandon Spithaler tangled in turn four early on, eliminating both from contention with six laps in the books, leaving Sodeman with a clear opportunity to hunt the leader in clean air.  However, he came up short in his pursuit as Lynch was extremely fast on the top side and never looked back once firmly in the lead.

Joey Zambotti’s week one performance in Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stock action was impressive indeed as he came from the tail of the field to the second spot and nearly challenging for the win. His performance on Friday night was just as if not more so impressive. Zambotti made his way through the field and ran down a strong running Tyler Dietz out front while Ryan Moyer and Corey McPherson joined the front of the pack. Dietz was able to inch closer after Zambotti made the pass for the win but ran out of laps as he took his first Lernerville feature victory of the season, prompting a familiar fence climbing celebration before victory lane.

Sarver, PA (May 10, 2019) The 2019 season opened up beneath cloudy skies and cool temperatures on Friday night at Lernerville Speedway and fans were treated to a full night of action packed racing on a night that saw a little of everything. Familiar faces returned to Terry Bowser Victory Lane and a pair of drivers returned for the first time in quite a while.

Brandon Matus didn’t treat fans to his famous fence climbing exhibition, but he did treat himself to a well deserved victory in the Peoples Gas Sprint Car main event. Matus bolted out to the early lead while Jack Sodeman Jr, AJ Flick and Sye Lynch took up positions directly behind him.  However, Matus proved to be the fastest car on the track throughout 25 laps and was able to maneuver through lapped traffic efficiently to keep any potential challengers at bay as the laps wound down en route to his first feature win at Lernerville since October of 2015.

In the Precise Racing Products Late Models, Michael Norris was the class of the field for the majority of the main event, picking up where he left off from a dominant 2018 campaign. However, a series of restarts in the final two laps, including three consecutive green-white-checkered situations at end proved vital to the final outcome. Russ King, who had made his way forward to a podium position, was able to second and then overtake Norris on the final restart to score his first feature win in over a year.  Meanwhile, Brian Swartzlander held off an early charge from Rex King Sr. early on in Diehl Automotive Big Block Modified action, and once firmly in the lead, never looked back to secure his 96th career feature win at Lernerville.

Corey McPherson closed out the evening as he has so many times before, with a feature victory and looked impressive in doing so in Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stock action. Almost equally impressive was the speed with which Joey Zambotti made his way from the tail of the field following an incident on the opening lap. Zambotti used several restarts to pick up positions and was perhaps the fastest car on the track in the second half of the race but came up just short at the end of 20 laps.

Sarver, PA (November 25, 2018)- The countdown has begun on the 2019 season as The Action Track moves into off-season preparation mode. There are currently 144 days before the first official green flag waves on the new season. It will be a campaign that will once again see the Fab4 Fueled by Turners Premium Iced Tea, anchored by the Peoples Gas DIRTcar Sprints, Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models, Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Modifieds and Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stocks, take center stage on Friday nights.

Before the season revs up however, there are some important dates to remember. Our 2018 awards banquet will be held on Saturday, March 2nd at Brackenridge Heights Golf Course in Natrona, PA. Times and ticket information will be available on our website soon. Later in March, look for the sharp looking new rides to be on display as drivers will be showing their new cars off for back to back weekends. The Clearview Mall Car Show is slated to run on March 20-22 while the Pittsburgh Mills Car Show is currently scheduled for March 28-30.

As April gets underway, be on the lookout for our Test and Tune dates on April 5 and April 12 as drivers shake down in preparation for the coming season which will kick off on April 19.  Fab4 racing will start our 2019 season on that night and the following Friday giving area Sprint Car drivers two chances to tune up the All Star Circuit of Champions who make their one and only visit to The Action Track on May 3.

The special events fans have come to enjoy year in and year out return intact as the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Models partake in the 13th Annual Firecracker 100 June 20-22. The three day speed festival will once again see two $6,000 to win preliminary nights followed by the $30,000 to win Firecracker 100 finale.

The 13th Annual Steel City Stampede steps back one week in 2019 with action starting on October 17 and winding up with over 10 main events and a 100 lap Enduro on October 19.
