About Me
Grew up in Michigan. Went to UNOH for college. Raced 10 years running Steet Stocks and Late Models at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways. Currently living in Lima, Ohio. Sold the Late Model to raise my kids. Now a big fan of dirt racing and taking my son up to Limaland and Eldora. Hoping one day to get back to racing....but on dirt. Anyone out there looking for some help shoot me a message.

I agree. They made it up to Michigan for Autorama, you would think they could make it across town.

A lot of the safety things you mentioned are things that a racer should have enought sence to take it upon themselfs for protection of their own safety. As far as some thing i dont like is some of the compacs use the factory fuel tank and not using a fuel cell. Maybe im wrong on this rule but thats some thing i would have in a car a fuel cell.
Yeah, you would think a racer would have enough sense to not use carriage bolts to hold in your seat, or exhaust pipe as roll bar tubing, but some rednecks do.
Ive been to tracks where they wont allow your car on the track until after it passes a safety inspection. I just think the tracks around here should pick up on that.

They need to do some kind of safety check on all the cars and the drivers equipment. I raced there 3 times last year, once in a mini sprint, and twice in a truck and not one person from the track came over to check to see if I have any clue as to what i was doing or to see if I have a firesuit, or seat belts.
Ive seen some sketcy equipment out there.
Where Im from, there is an offical who checks everyones car, seat belts, drivers suit, helmet, neck supports and gloves to make sure they have them, they are up to date, and safe. I think waynesfield and other surrounding tracks should do the same. JMO
