Despite Challenges Haley Finishes 4th at Charlotte

Charlotte, NC (Oct-14, 2010) – In an event that would put his versatility to the test, NASCAR K&N Pro Series East & Dirt Late Model driver Brandon Haley answered the challenge at the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway Wednesday night as the Hartwell, GA native rolled to a fourth place finish in his first ever NDRA sanctioned event.

Perhaps the biggest challenge Haley and all of the competitors present faced in advance of the event was the peculiar race format leaving many to question what series and/or track officials were thinking.

– In the days leading up to the 16th Annual Georgia State Championships at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia GA, one storyline that was gaining a lot momentum as race day neared was the classic showdown the event might produce between Dirt Late Model legend Jack Pennington of Augusta, GA and Hartwell GA’s Brandon Haley.

In addition to his spectacular Top 10 finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in just his second outing just three weeks ago, Haley’s career stats include 47 wins, 41 poles and 81 Top 5’s on dirt in just two years prior to 2010, Pennington on the other hand has been racing since 1974, amassing hundreds of wins throughout his storied career.
