#443976 Independence Day!

Posted by Fast Lane Life on 09 July 2019 - 08:05 PM

And the more unfortunate point is: an innocent post with all good intentions to draw focus on why we need to remember and value our freedom as well as to honor our service men and woman got turned into something ugly for which it was never intended. This was not to rile any political discussion or debate, but moreover to draw positive attention to the day and its people. Sadly this is just one of the reasons why so many have left this forum or do not post anything because of all the drama, bickering and outright negativity associated with certain individuals. I DEEPLY apologize for posting!

#438878 This Week $8,200 to win, $600 to start @ Bedford...

Posted by Fast Lane Life on 13 July 2018 - 07:30 AM

I would certainly hope that as many Late Model teams and fans that can make it, show their support to the Padula's for putting on this significant level of a (local) show. With a $35,000 late model purse on the line and given the number of drivers from this geographic region that could be available from Port Royal, Hagerstown, Selingsgrove, Winchester, Dog Hollow, etc. there should be 35 teams participating. In days gone by this show would have attracted 50+ cars. The full purse is listed on the Bedford Speedway website...highlights include 4th $2,000; 10th $1,000 15th $800 and $600 to start.

#435204 Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals June 16th Event - Payout & Race Format

Posted by Fast Lane Life on 14 November 2017 - 08:31 AM

I want to start with the preface that it is Sharon's sandbox with the Penn-Ohio sanction and they can absolutely do what they want to do. I only offer this concept merely as food for thought as an alternative payout. The above top heavy payout is not always the key to success in drawing cars. It worked well at one time three plus decades ago but not so much today. My idea may indeed cause more drivers to consider competing in this inaugural event, so it becomes annual and not a one and done event.

Here goes...
1. $5,000; 2. $2,500; 3. $1,500; 4. $1,250; 5. $1,150; 6. $1,100; 7. $1,000; 8. $800; 9. $750; 10. $700; 11. $650; 12. $600; 13. $575; 14. 550; 15. $525; 16. $500; 17. $475; 18. $450; 19. $425; 20 -30 $400. This last place payout reflects more in earnings than most regular stock shows pay to win.

Now let the haters and negative Nancy's begin...because adult discussion and exchange of ideas oft times gets lost here.
