JOE MARTIN FINISHES CAREER SEASON AS 2015 CRATE AMERICAN RACER SERIES CHAMPION! MARTIN, WRIGHT, AND BLAZAVICH FINISH AS HOME TRACK CHAMPIONS!

9/8/15
(Indiana, PA) As summer came to a close this past weekend so did the first season of the Crate American Racer Series.  After all the points were tallied we officially announce the driver of the #55, Joe Martin as the series first $5,000 champion and the Dog Hollow Speedway champion! Racking up an impressive 12 top 3s and 9 wins this summer was enough to lift him past Chad Wright who picked up the championship at Raceway 7 ending the season with 11 top 3s and 9 wins. Joe also won 3 races at Marion Center Speedway, currently making him the CARS All Time Win leader capturing a total of 12 feature events.

Third and fourth place went to a pair of long time Dog Hollow drivers Andrew Satterlee and Mike Laughard. These two battled all season with Martin winning a combined 8 races at the track. Andrew finished the season with an impressive seven 2nd place finishes and three wins. Laughard found himself in victory lane five times and with five 3rd place finishes to go with it he found himself 3 points out of 3rd place.

Raceway 7 regulars Dennis Lunger Jr. and 2014 track champion Kyle Zimmerman held down the 5th and 6th place finishes. Lunger had three wins and four 2nd place finishes on the season. Zimmerman only picked up one win in 2015 but used the consistency of 12 top 5 finishes to end up 6th in the overall standings.

In 7th place was Dave Blazavich a super late regular who was not to be tested in his first year behind the wheel of a crate late. Winning three races this season Dave also picked up the Marion Center Speedway Championship in the familiar 18B his rookie season.

Rounding out the top ten was Billy Henry Jr., a Raceway 7 regular, Wendell Pickney, and Corey Neal. Wendell was the only driver from Raceway 7 who took advantage of Marion Center Speedway racing Saturday night and each week made the long tow down from Conneaut, OH. Pickney had one win on the season at MCS.

All track champions will receive four fresh American Racer Crate tires courtesy of Lias Tire Racing Division in Indiana, PA. Also product awards will be given out at The Ultimate Challenge Crate Race at Dog Hollow Speedway Saturday Sept. 26.

This caps off an incredible first season for the CARS program and one that we look to build from into the future. We again want to thank the tracks, drivers, crews, and fans for supporting us in our first season. Also special thanks go out to our sponsors: Lias Tire Racing Division/ American Racer Tire, Schoenfeld Headers, Genesis Shocks, Integra Shocks, Dirt Defender Wheel Covers, Performance Bodies, Bernheisel Race Components.
